The way GDW had been changed when I first saw Stevie in Vegas, I was surprised that Rhiannon hadn't been. Although I did like the slow intro and the way the curtains fell in a quick swoop as the music revved up. That added some drama to the intro of the song. But the remainder was the same. If nothing else, change the, "Welllllll, I don't think you do!" line.

I think there is a fine balance between sounding raw and sounding worn. And sometimes vocalists sound anguished and pained, not necessarily because they feel that way, but because that's the only way they can squeeze out certain notes. And we all know Stevie also does her fair share of screaming when she has to hit the note. But with Lindsey it just seems like he is either whispering or bellowing- no longer able or willing to sing a song in its original key, melody or cadence. And as for "Dreams," it is not exactly the kind of song one would/should belt out. It has and always will be one of those chill songs that kind of soothes you like a warm towel. But you have to admit that she does kind of lose her sh** at the end of "Silver Springs;" that's pretty much sung straight from the gut, IMHO.

They're both doing great on that stage.
They both deserve both positive and negative criticism.
They both have my utmost respect as performers, and have done with years.
All I was saying was that Lindsey's voice can come off quite shrill and unbearable at times.
But then again, Stevies can come across quite mundayne.

Most go to Fleetwood Mac concerts because that is a band with (now) four VERY talented members. I wouldn't want to see three-member Fleetwood Mac without Stevie ... without John ... without Lindsey ... or without Mick.

I understand there are a tremendous amount of Stevie Nicks fans out there. She's always been a BIG draw. However, there are a tremendous amount of band fans out there too.

And I won't admit anything about Stevie: If you are following my posts about this tour it must be clear that I'm impressed with her performance on the songs she appears she's WANTING to sing.

yes, GDW has certaintly evolved and stayed FRESH, especially in recent years. The Waddy intro on Soundstage is killer. But our little bird in flight Rhiannon has taken a serious nose dive!

That's a good point, but I would argue that not adapting your music due to your waning vocal capabilities makes not only the song suffer, but the audience too i.e. Rhiannon and Dreams.
I didnt hear a single Buckingham song that was hard to sit through like those two. It might be different, but I didnt suffer through it.

Then why are Fleetwood Mac crowds so much larger than Stevie solo? They're there for the band as a whole. It's a totally different beast than anything they do on their own. Stevie is the star, to be sure, but she was never viewed as the sole attraction of the band.

I've never gone to see one member. In fact, I have always had a hard time deciding which member to watch (as a matter of fact )
This business that it's all about Stevie or Lindsey.. or Christine... well let me just say.. it's not about any of those 3 women... it's Fleetwood Mac.... it's a band... and people can have their favorites... but don't speak for everyone else... please...
