Yes, that's right. So far, it's just rumours. Just when I see a member telling directly they are at studios, I'll believe it

You know, if they're really serious about doing a new album, they could pump one out by the spring of 2010 - just in time for a summer tour. Of course, it's extremely doubtful they will tour 2 years in a row since that has not happened in over two decades. No, most likely it will take them a year, then followed by a tour in the summer of 2011. By then, they will all be in their mid 60s and it might very well be time for a farewell tour.

Why aren't you counting 2003 & 2004?

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I was referring to two different tours, not just touring in consecutive years. Last time would be '78 & '79 ('78 being off of Rumours, '79 off of Tusk).

I do believe Mick's comments about needing to pay off their mortgages, though, so I wouldn't doubt that it will happen eventually. Maybe we'll see something released by the end of 2010, if they're really serious about doing it. It's possible.
What they say & what they actually do has typically been 2 very different things. Plus, it's very early in this tour - they could very well hate eachother within a few months. It would be great, but I hope people don't get their hopes up for a new album, then in a year or two if it doesn't happen, scream "but Mick said!"

I heard something about this too. Think it's substantiated? Or more of a "wouldn't it be a great idea if they made a deal like the Eagles?"

Well, admittedly Mick has not been one to drop too many whoppers in the past; it's not like he has been hyping a new album every time Lindsey entered the studio to work on his solo work. The last time Mick was touting a new FM album, lo and behold, we got one. I sincerely don't think Mick would be talking like this unless he really thought something was up.

I even think the latter guestimate is even too optimistic. I'm guessing they'll end up touring through the summer, then need their obligatory year plus off. Then they'll reconvene, and take another year plus to record an album. So we're looking at an earliest possible release date of summer 2012 for the album. But we all know how the band works, they'll fuss around, and it'll be at least spring 2013 before they put out an album, then tour that summer. That's still being pretty optimistic by Mac standards. I'm guessing they'll end up fighting on this tour, and it'll be longer than that (if at all) before we get one last album out of them.

Oh, I'm sure there's been talk. I'm sure they're tentatively planning. I don't think he's bull****ting. I'm taking it with a grain of salt - you never know what will happen in the future, esp. with this band.
