You think? I think Alexis is a little bland. Her whole get-up she has now is not her. I don't like how the judges told her to change her image and she came back with pink highlights? WTF? A 20 something mother with pink hair? Such a poser. She does have an interesting voice, though.

I see Allison losing hers. She doesn't have vocal control yet and she is going to practice and practice hitting higher notes and I think it will bite her in the butt.

oy. I'm too into this show. I need help.

I agree- it already sounds like there's a ganja farm growing in her alveolar sacs.

All it takes is one off-night to give her the boot. I think she lucked out with a good song choice (Heart's "Alone"), which gave her license to scream. But I don't think country 'n' western night will be so forgiving.

I hear it's Michael Jackson theme this week.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Oh good lord. This is going to be a nightmare. Most of his 80's work has not held up well, IMO - sooooo dated & cheesy, sure to give us plenty of karaoke-ish performances.

So Thriller for the groupd performance? Or Black or White?

I'm a bit confused as to why they have both Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson performing this Wed.

I think Kanye is the mentor this week and Kelly's album comes out tomorrow.....and you know Kanye. He has to perform no matter what.

Ugh. You know there's going to be someone who covers the David-Cook-Covering-Chris-Cornell-Covering-Michael-Jackson version of "Billie Jean," and everyone will rave that it's so radical and original. .

^ So Kanye will talk about what an influence MJ was on him?
Great.

They must have countless mentors/guests lined up this season to throw 2 pretty major stars in the same week.

I'm impressed by Alexis' voice, not her new look. We will see if she stays with the current image or not.

I don't know enough about singing to take a guess at Allison. My only hope is that the vocal coaching they receive will teach her some control. I'm a big fan of gravelly voices (in case you couldn't figure that out, lol.)

She may as well have called it My Career Would Suck Without Top-Shelf Producers and Songwriters .

ha!

Me, too girl. Me, too. Imperfection is perfection in my book.

I just wish they kept the format with 3 weeks of semi-finals. I think we would have a better feel of things. Who knows how bad/good these contestants really are?

....and is it me or is Scott not a good singer at all? Mediocre, at best. I don't see (no pun) the appeal.

I personally love her 'My December' record compared to this one.

My December is an awesome album, actually. Not many hits, that's for sure. But it's my favorite of the 3 (I haven't heard the new one yet.) I was excited about the newer/edgier direction she seemed to be taking with that CD, but she's obviously been convinced that you need radio pop hits to be successful. Oh well.

How ironic when the radio era is pretty much dead. Does anyone listen to the radio anymore? It's all about digital downloads. I don't think I've listened to the radio in months to a year. Well, living in NYC, there's no radio in a car for me to listen to....it's all about my 'pod on the subway.

Anyway....back to Idol....they are still so concerned about image and appearance, rather than the actually voice. Don't they know the video era is also dead and gone.? People actually want good songs now rather than visuals.

Scott cannot sing. I'm sorry. I hope he wins American Idol though because it's time for it to die. LOL

I like a few songs on KC's new album (heard 'em all on YouTube) and will probably buy the ones I like, as I always do with Kelly's stuff.

I'm very curious about Adam. When he just sings, he's fantastic, but the screeching, I can do without. I love Anoop too.

Michael Jackson Week....ooooooh boy.
