Default Lindsey's Art

I love Lindsey's paintings (as seen on BuckinghamNicks.net) but his ink drawings freak me out. I have a few questions: Is it just me, or does it look like Stevie has a... I don't know, a strap on? Some other sort of phallic object? I'm completely serious. I love the picture, but what is that supposed to be?

Also, I'd like to see more of Lindsey's art, particularly his paintings. I don't have anything except what is on BuckinghamNicks.net.

I don't know what they have, but he also painted the cover of the album "therfu" by Turley Richards.

I always thought that it may be their unborn baby that Stevie aborted.

I think that "thing" is just part of a belt she used to wear in those days:

^ I agree. She had a belt that I think he worked off of. The design used to hang down in a rectangle.

I think he made John a lot taller than he is in the drawing and made himself smaller than he is. Also, it's interesting that John is hugging his bass, while Lindsey is without his guitar. Michele

no idea, but Stevie looks taller than she really is. She actually doesn't reach Mick's shoulder. Well, art is free art.

What's that cover from? Take II? Never heard of it!

First of all this picture is from the inner sleeve of the Mirage album
Secondly, that is just Stevie's belt nothing sinister!
Thirdly, I've always felt this painting says a lot about how Lindsey felt towards the other members of the band. First you have John, arms wrapped around his bass. He's protective of his craft, to the point where they've had arguments. But Lindsey clearly respects him. Mick is depicted tall and strong, fists clenched, and in the middle, he's like the tower of strength that is the centre of the band. Christine has a drink in her hand but also her hands are quite big, which I always equated with her caring nature and her talent as a keyboardist. Lindsey himself is partly in shadows, like he's afraid to reveal too much of himself. He's also almost apart from the band (he seems like he's stepping away from them into the shadows) like he doesn't feel like a full member of the band. And finally, Stevie is shown with her arms behind her back, making her look armless almost: to me she appears kind of helpless, her wide-eyed, innocent expression seems like it pleading for help. But the most striking thing about Stevie I think, is the fact that he's painted her head much bigger than the others. It looks out of proportion compared to the other members. Is he commenting on her ego perhaps?

I dunno, maybe I'm reading waaaaay too much into this

Sharon, that was a cool interp to read.

The first thing I noticed was Lindsey's half-shadowy face. Plus, his face/head is downcast a bit as if looking upwards.

Are Stevie's hands/arms behind her back or in front of her cradling her stomach? I see them as in front of her, cradling.

Interesting that there is no warmth there and since this WAS the Mirage era...I totally get that. In the Tusk pics...they all seemed more touchy and warm towards one another.

I am not going to make the Stevie/Mick joke that is just asking to be made here. That's all I have to say.
