PM me... we will chat more about it, but no. I am more afraid of people who don't want to believe in more. We'll chat. Side note: the hairs on my arm stood up and I cried. Like a baby, but felt as though someone was holding me. Without me saying that to her she said, "It's your grandad that you're feeling. It's Granvel." I almost cried till I couldn't breathe. It was nearly too much.

Was great to see them perform Red River Valley..anything spontaneous or new from La Nicks is a treasure these days.

I am sorry that Solitary Man was cut from the broadcast, although what we got was good.

Now, I thought I Have Loved and I've Lost was about her first boyfriend Steve or something. This conversation made it seem like it may have been about her music teacher who left for Spain. Wait a minute. She wasn't even 16 years old at the time. The man should be extradited (guess he's about 80 now) and thrown in jail!

Stevie is funny to me because while it's very easy to make her laugh, she does it at silly things, like the talking fish in DR. If you say something wry to her, she won't laugh. She won't even smile. And when she says something wry or dry herself, she is completely deadpan. She doesn't give a "wink wink" smile at all. She looks entirely serious, but says something she knows is amusing. It's an interesting delivery to me.

It's that closet inner-Anglophile in her. I suppose that's what made her get along so well with her Brit counterparts.

I was thinking the same thing while watching this last night...I figured since she and Chris are on the same label and have toured together the interview would have been a bit more *humorous* and more one on one...

I thought about the Sandra Bernard interview from years past - how lively and silly she was...Definitely not the same this time around...she almost seemed annoyed in most places. It was interesting to hear her talk about the early days and how she and Lindsey were kinda on the rocks when joining FM. But I think Stevie was in a bad *moody* (except during the performances, that's when she came to life) maybe the 'change' is wearing her down...

At any rate, I still love her...always will

I figure that she is so tired of talking about this stuff. You think? Maybe she was annoyed period. She is changing on us. We do still love her, but something is amiss.

Stevie and Chris would have made such beautiful babies...

I found the interview sort of generic, with a few cute parts. My favorite interviews are the candid ones..like Much More Music from 2001. The duets however where out of this world. I have always loved hearing her on Solitary Man.

I was really surprised (in a good way!) about how much I enjoyed this interview. Yes, it was the same old stuff, but she gave us a few little tidbits of new info, more details about some things. The following stuck in my mind:

*We got a new witch quote, but I already forgot it. Was it "I'm not a witch, so just forget it!"?

*Loved that she talked about NOTS - seemingly in a positive light. She knew that each year they choose a different Stevie "era" which was cool. Karen must have told her.

*Noticing that AJ's face seemed to have a brief flash of jealousy when she showed him the BN album & how that made her feel a little bad since he was old & never made it in the music biz & had a rough life.

*Specifying that Rhiannon is NOT a witch & she knew that after she read the books, but that she decided to do the "Welsh Witch" intro at early shows because it sounded cool.

* I'm thinking we got our answer about plastic surgery when she specified she went to one with her "hole in the nose" concern in 1985, rather than an ENT. I highly doubt she never went back to have "a little something" done later.

*Chris telling her the BN album would have sold more copies had her & LB switched places on the cover. She did not look amused, but replied "well, you're probably right."

"Some 6'4" dude will walk out wearing white lace & chiffon..." She's talking to you, Strandinthewind.

She made it sound like that wasn't just in the past. It hit me that she probably neeeded some steroid shots during the SYW tour - it's pretty common for singers, if they have asthma and/or are ill & their voice is shot. Certainly would explain the puffy face & weight gain later in that tour. Why didn't I think of that before? So obvious to me now.

Yes, I noticed the constant plugs. Good for her, though. There hasn't been much promo, so I say go for it. The comment about it being a definitive R&R show like the Joplin days made me guffaw, but whatever. it's all subjective I suppose.

now talking about red river valley and something about AJ Nicks. I kinda missed that part. Playing Red River valley now.

funny thing from before when she said she writes on a typewriter and her journal and how she has no computer and no cell phome. chris then says about how he sent her an email and she was like oh karen does the email and if its important she prints it out, HA HA!
AHA! We knew damn well Karen was filling them with music & not La Nicks!

And yes, Stevie, I'm sure you were a doctor once. You just love blood & guts & puke & ****. Yup. She cracks me up.

See, I thought it was pretty fresh & original, considering it was mostly the same old topics that have been discussed to death. He seemed to catch her off-guard a few times & she just had to spit something out without having much time to think about it & formulate an answer.

I thought the parts about her grandpa were interesting. I thought she was very candid and gave more detail about she and Lindsey joining the Mac - they went down to Tower and bought the records, she walked down Ventura to the laundromat, she bought an apartment alone after they joined the Mac (then he moved in 5 months later haha)...just the details that either get left out or not reported.... eh, anyway, I really like the show too - the set, the format. Just enough talk and just enough music, I think... I will be a regular viewer...
Exactly. Although I doubt Tower records was open on New Year's Day back then.

That performance was incredible. She hit some amazing notes, seemingly without difficulty. Nice vocal inflections - definitely NOT monotone. Incredible harmonies from Chris - I love the way they sound together. I will be DLing that tune for sure.

Solitary Man w/Chris from the AHI benefit is one of my favorite performances by Stevie ever. Love it. Woulds have loved to see it again, but ITA. What we got was good. Even It's Late, which can bore me, was impressive - she sang the high notes!

And no, she said it was about her boyfriend of 3 weeks when she was "15&3/4 years old", NOT her music teacher.
