I've been fortunate enough to always have a seat within the first 11 rows for FM concerts and I have never sat in one of them once FM hit the stage. Doing so would mean not seeing a thing. So, wear comfy shoes.

I actually had good front row experiences where people were, for the most part, respectful. I think the only time things got weird, actually, was when I was not in the front row. I was standing in the aisle, basically for my own protection (VERY drunk guys in front of me) and when one of them kept grabbing my hands because I wasn't "clapping right," this woman in front just sort of ushered me right next to her by the stage. That was very sweet.

I will say, though, be prepared for company up there. And, really, if you don't want anyone in front of you, sort of claim the stage in front of your seats really early because if it's anything like SYW, there will be folks who will slip right in front of you, and depending on how tough security is (and some venues are, and some are definitely not), you may have no choice in the matter.

We had front row center tickets for Columbus, Moline, and Madison on the SYW tour. The ex and I (for at least Columbus & Moline) talked to the security guards/staff around the stage before the show to tell them what was going to happen (stage rush, etc.), which helped keep most of the riff raff away. One drunk girl finagled her way up front and shoved me at Columbus (during GYOW), and as a result, the security guard took care of her right away. She came back during the solo of World Turning, and this time the security escorted her out of the building, where she belonged.

Folks, this is NOT A GA (General Admission) concert! Get a grip, and have some respect for your fellow Fleetwood Mac fans by enjoying the show from your seat area. With sales as poor they are, its not like its going to be difficult to get a decent seat for this tour.

I would never take somebody's spot or anything but there is plenty of room up there by the stage. If people want to stand behind you up close they should be able to as long as everybody is polite and not rude. Its the drunk idiots that ruin it for everybody. I got front row tonight so I wont have to worry about getting up there now, WOOT!

thanks i am so excited i cant sleep! I really hope my other tickets sell though. The ticketmaster ticket exchange is so annoying. Just to get what you paid for them you have to sell them for $50 more from the fees they take from you and then they add another $90 on top of that for their fees. That is crap.

What?? I never had those problems when I sold my Phoenix Suns playoff tickets through TicketExchange a couple years back... just nominal fees.

Whoa. Am I understanding this correctly? The first few rows are allowed to stand up against the stage? Like within feet of the group?

Is this a regular occurrance at FM shows? Do most venues allow it? Does Stevie (or any of the others) shake hands similar to the "Edge Walk"?

This is my first MAC show, and I shelled out for good seats. If I am able to stand at the stage I will be positively ecstatic!

Please enlighten me, o experienced MAC fans!

Well, when I did it at the Marketplace, they deducted $33.

I just checked my records... I was charged $51 in fees when selling ~$550 worth of tickets. So, I guess it makes sense... I just remember it being less.

Oh well, you get what you pay for (a secure transaction and guaranteed tickets for the buyer)

I know there's another thread about this, but I'm still stunned here. I posted in the other thread about just getting front row for Pittsburgh and now I need to know how are they with camera's there? are they strict? do they let you take pics? INFO PLEASE!

My comment about getting to the stage wasn't a license for "obnoxious and rude" behaviour. Except for accidentally stepping on someone's foot I've never behaved rudely at any concert.

There are many ways to get to the front of the stage. Of course it helps if you start out with good seats. Some venues have got smart and starting at about the fifth row (or so) there are no aisles. That stops most people, but not the brave, daring and determinated Mac fan.

Without the details, BEER, yes beer helped me get to the front of the stage at one of the shows I attended. No I wasn't drinking it, nor did I throw it (that would be the obnoxious and rude behaviour LukeA was talking about). I can't reveal the rest of the story because I might do it again. And if all you Ledgies use it, there won't be any room left at the stage for me.

One last thing, besides will and determination it helps if you're bigger than most. At the very least it helps you hold on to your spot.

DavidMN is the one who should reveal his stage secrets.

They did during SYW. I think it was kind of tentative for the first month of shows, and then it was more or less expected and encouraged.

But, again, I agree with Luke on this. It's not GA. If they allow first 3-5 rows up there, don't run up from your 32nd row seat. People, in general, are very nice up there if you are very nice. So, even if you're a large person, don't plant yourself there like you're saving spots for 6 (*and for pity's sake, don't attempt to smuggle ALL your friends up there--which I definitely saw in a Stevie concert, during the Edge walk, where I actually moved back FROM the stage to behind second row because it was the one and only time I thought things were truly getting dangerous up there. And that was me having legitimate front row seats, seeing some guy run over from Lord knows where and then gesture to/move his pushy/rude/obnxious gal pals up to slide between the three inches between my body and his. I moved away. I had done the Edge walk thing before and let them have their moment, even if they were jerks).

It's fun and exciting. You walk away slightly deaf in one or both ears from the speakers being right there. You feel the music pounding through your body. And you see every wad of spit coming out of Mick Fleetwood's mouth during World Turning. And if that's not incentive enough for you...

For the SYW tour, I think they gave instructions to security to let the first 3 rows up. That's what I would hear some of the guards say to people who asked before the show. I would say the only place this didn't happen where I attended was the first night of Chumash.

I will be interested to see if they do that for this tour. I do remember on Lindsey's last solo tour last fall he wasnt leeting the crowd play his guitar during GYOW as much. I dont know if thats a sign for this tour or not, we'el have to see.
