SURE! Let's tell everyone that there are rules to their creativity. Let us say to Van Gogh, "Hey! You did an okay job, but it kinda looks like a fourth grader did it." You can't. That isn't art. It may not be your favorite way to write a song, or a song that you enjoy, but it is major to someone-somewhere. For that reason only we must leave her style to her. I am only stating this to preserve the right of a difference in opinion.

Wow this is a good and interesting thread so far. Personally, it was refreshing to read Lindsey's comments in this interview. I think its nice that someone actually stated the facts about this tour. Not like as if I didn't think it was all about the $$ to begin with anyway. He just totally confirmed it. Besides the really nothing new (to me anyway) setlist and the high ticket prices...the reasons I will not support this Fmac tour or another Stevie solo tour.
I do think Stevie's comments are not right. Give me a break. Its so wrong to compare Fmac to anyone serving in the Army. I don't care if she being humorous or not. I do think that its insensitive to all the men & woman serving our country right now. I don't care how bad Mac was in the past with Lindsey or anyone....I don't think that would ever compare period. She really is out of touch period. I do think they should all not give interviews with the crap there saying. Yeah, I can't believe it's helping them with ticket sales either. I don't feel bad for any of them if they've all blown all of there $$. All of them should have net eggs by now and if not than its there fault. Most people don't have jobs right now. This whole tour does leave a bad taste in my mouth as well. That is IMO.....I think everyone has made some great points in this thread. If your going enjoy yourself ......but I don't think I'll miss very much. Heck I can read all about it here!! Thanks for everyones imput here.

One of the best comments on this thread so far. Your really expressed your opinion in a great way and ended it perfectly. And yeah... I am sure that we can read all the great information about the tour here... Maybe even some of the not so great stuff... LOL You can count on reading about my experience, for sure.

Thanks and please do enjoy yourself. If I hadn't seen them I'd probably be all over it but I have seen Mac live 3 times (not as many as some have) but have heard many of the boots through the yrs and well the early dvds. I've seen Mac live during Mask/Dance/SYW 03 Stevie solo SA/Enchanted/TISL/Two Voices/CV 07/CV 08....so I've had the experience....so I do look forward at least to other fans comments about this coming tour. Plus I won't miss the Palace much either (here in MI) I don't like it that much for concerts. PK/DTE is better....I think they've done much better at a smaller venue too like at The Fox. Of course they'd still probably charge as much though. Do let me know ok....Thanks!!

If Stevie doesnt get the arm back to Tambourine playing capacity, I'm scalping my tickets. How COULD the show go on!?

When I first read the part of Lindsey's "cash grabbing" statement, I was somewhat dissapointed in him. But then you have to think, he's put out three albums and gone on tour twice, just to do his thing. Obviously those wern't cash grabs. If anything, the other members are more dissapointing for taking part. I don't fault John, because he'd be there regardless of a new album, and I'm pretty sure he didnt mind putting his solo career on hold.

Frankly, I got amped for the tour when they announced it. I was going to buy tix for DC and Philly in addition to the Pittsburgh ones I already had, but I'm not anymore. Opening will be enough for me. A new album would be interesting, but I really dont care. IMO Stevie's work on SYW was sub-par (and a few of Lindsey's too) so I have very little faith in a new effort.
I'd be much more eager for the tour to be over, for Lindsey to get active again. But maybe we're all spoiling ourselves with anticipation. Im sure people couldnt WAIT for the follow up to OOTC....

I don't really get why people are offended by the fact that Lindsey admits he's partly doing this tour for the cash. He did offer other reasons too afterall but it's pretty obvious that's the main motivation for all of them, I mean, will the concerts sound better pretending that's not the case? I'm sure they will put their heart in soul into it regardless.

I don't know. I think, in some ways, they are all trapped within the confines of characters they created for themselves, if that makes any sense.

They most certainly get asked the same freaking stupid questions time after time. And circumstances kind of dictate slightly different answers nowadays. But, the fact is, John is still the quiet one who just wants to shut up and play (God bless him!). Mick sees himself as the English gentleman (no comment). Stevie is the self-professed Ancient Diva Fairy Grandma lately (!!!) and Lindsey is The Artiste.

They are going to answer questions through those filters. So, no. I'm not taking them as seriously as I once did. There are going to be things that piss me off, and things that make me laugh. The tour is what it is. There is, really, nothing much to say about it. Even if everyone agreed with Lindsey and said it's all for the money--where do you go from there? Follow-up question would probably be about their love affairs and just how hard Rumours was to make. The interviews are geared for the casual fans, not die-hards who've heard it all before.

So, they don't want to be together? Isn't that weird The more I read about it, the more I think that this tour won't be worth a visit. On the other hand, Lindsey has been "teh force" for a long time, and if he's bored with that I can imagine. Why not songs written together with John & Mick?

I'm not saying that, if there had been a new album, they HAVE to play 8 or 10 songs from it, but 3-4 is kinda ok with me, and ONLY the stronger ones lol.

You see, I don't like blind Christine fans here, yes she was in the Mac for a long time (no pun intended ), and yes she wrote many nice songs, but she had enough of it and she's GONE for like 11 years. R E S P E C T...

Well I'm sure she's made a pretty darn good living writing those 4th grade level songs. I personally don't care for some of her lyrics but that's the way she expresses herself. I don't condemn her for that.

I always thought the same thing, because you don't hurt somebody who loves you deeply like that.

I think this interview pissed me off more than usual for a couple of reasons. First this was in my local paper, so I kept getting emails from friends and coworkers pointing out what asses they are. I'm getting tired of having to defend them, I guess. Second, with the majority of us worried about whether we're going to be employed tomorrow or not, I really didn't appreciate the lets milk Fleetwood Mac fans by doing this lame ass tour attitude. Perhaps Lindsey didn't mean to sound as cold as he came off. I'm used to them making asinine comments, but I guess my tolerance level has reached its limits.

As it is they better not drop Storms!

The Quiet One should write his memoirs, NOW!
