There's about a hundred demos and different versions of The Dealer. I'm going to start a new thread with a few to get you started. I like the song--its grown on me.

He is totally hitting that pipe! I love the fact that he still has a little grass every now and then. Not my thing, but rock on, LB! Seriously, CADreaming, you have eyes like a frappin' hawk. What's more? He didn't even hide it. It was out there for everyone to see. Lindsey, you sly cat, you! Bless his heart. I could imagine what days with Stevie and that band is like. I would have to hit a pipe, or two, myself- Well done, CADreaming! Well done! KUDOS TO YOU! I am only this psyched because no one else would have, or has- to my knowledge, noticed it. Wow... I zoomed in on my 73" television so it was like, I could smell the weed it was so close, lol. I also do that with Stevie's Soundstage blu-ray... I zoom in so she is life size, lol. Thanks for the LB/Grass point out! Well done!

ROFLOL! Thanks, I guess I've just got good eyesight? The smoke caught my attention the first time I saw it and so I slowed it down and voila! Funny stuff, isn't it? It's also funny before that where Stevie picks up her dog and leans it over to Lindsey while he's laying down on the sofa, I guess for him to pet it or I could just hear her making "doggie" talk to Lindsey with it..."Hi, Linds. Pet me!" LOL.

I think I've watched DR 12 times since I got it last November, but I never noticed that.

This is a funny subject. Stevie's voice has improved a little not because of cigarettes. Cigarettes don't improve your voice, they make you sound like Marianne Faithfull. Stevie works with a vocal coach now. That's why she sounds so good. I really don't think that she was "high as a kite" in that Destiny Rules Doc. She was probably exausted from recording and arguing with Buckingham. Hell, arguing with that man could make anyone exausted. LOL! I love him to death, but sometimes, he can be a little strange. LOL! I've gotta check out that "pipe thing" with Lindsey on the doc. though. LOL!

Well, my recollection is that Stevie started working with a vocal coach ever since The Dance era in 1997, so I don't think that could explain why Stevie sounds better now after sounding a bit "off" between the TISL and SYW eras. I think there could be a number of factors:

-Weight gain/loss
-Hip/back/foot issues necessitating the use of corticosteroids (which helps to explain the SYW weight gain)
-Menopause
-Better management of her chronic bronchitis/asthma

I also suspect that non-stop touring has forced her to maintain peak form on a constant basis; remember, no moss grows on a rolling stone.

You're not getting what I'm saying: her STOPPING SMOKING seems to have helped her voice tremendously. She was supposedly seen smoking during the SYW tour, and her voice was kinda ragged during that and the TISL tour. She's sounded better since. I agree with Hejira too though... I think it's a combo of things contributing to her improved voice.

Regarding her smoking pot, she's said in several interviews that she quote "hasn't done any HARD DRUGS since 1986." She's a baby boomer, hippie, rock star... if she DIDN'T smoke pot, I'd be very, very surprised.

Maybe they thought since it was speeded up, no one would notice.

With her dog, I like the part in rehearsal where the dog is running around during GYOW and Lindsey follows it a little and he runs away. I don't think the dog cared for the shackin' up part.

I think what you're referring to here had to do with menopause. Hormones effect changes in women's voices throughout their life. When she was in the thick of it, she openly discussed (and we all noticed) a drop in her energy level, at which time her voice may have been a bit more gravelly. Now that she is through it and feeling better (and possibly taking some type of supplemental estrogen), her voice may be more youthful again.

I believe that Stevie did 'officially' quit cigarettes in '97, but as for pot.....who knows?! If she has had some minor cigarette relapses since then (the alleged SYW smoking sightings), that would not be at all unlikely or uncommon. Everyone I know who has quit smoking has relapsed anywhere from once to multiple times. They say the main goal is to stay on the path of not becoming a full time smoker again, because cigarettes are so incredibly addictive on so many levels and therefore incredibly difficult to stay away from! I'm sure it's likely still a challenge that rears its ugly head for Stevie sometimes, especially given that she has a variety of many addictions in her past.

I agree with most of what you said. I remember reading concert reviews for the Say You Will Tour, Atlanta 2004, specifically and fans said they saw her smokin butts before the show. Im sure its just for her nerves. As for the pot, I have full confidence that Stevie Nicks still gets high. She lives alone (basically) and has tons of money, im sure a joint or two gets the creative juices going for her.

IMO, she still tokes up. I saw her when she toured with Tom Petty a few years ago and her eyes are soooooo glassy and heavy - and she so got into American Girl, look at the tour pics and her eyes - who could blame her? toking with Tom & the gang - good times for sure!

It's true... It's all there... Just ask LOUIE! My man knows where to find it. (STILL LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY!) All day long all I said, "Way to be LB!" People I work with didn't find it as amusing as I did, but who cares. I thought it was documentary gold!
