I have voted for your designs. But, based on rules, one can only vote once.
My favorite of your six is a recent upload...love the penguin's expression! catdancer designs |

The penguin has everything: Stevie's top hat, Mick's vest, Lindsey's curly hair and John's (kinda) British umbrella, not to mention his cigarette which actually made me think of Chris. Thank you so much for putting up my link.

Catdancer,
I think you need to convince the people of DBH to vote for your stuff, not just the Ledgies here. Sure, we'll vote for your stuff because we're friends & part of the community...but the people are DBH can be brutal. The bulk of the votes seems to be coming from them. More than half of the comments on my pages designs are from people I do not recognize. Many of my friends, I emailed them and asked them to sign up to vote. But I still notice that the majority of them seem to be coming from the people who've been on there designing for quite some time.

Um, Catdancer? You might want to give people more than a whole 12 hours to read your post before freaking out on them that they're ignoring you. People don't come here as much as they used to. It's nothing personal.
These links don't work. Last edited by skcin; 02-19-2009 at 03:16 PM.. |

For some reason DBH won't accept my black shirt designs. I've sent them an email asking them why but no reply yet. Your designs are great by the way.......

I've said it before - I find shirts that primarily feature photos of the band very cheesy. I have a box full of shirts that I've bought at Stevie/Fleetwood Mac shows over many years - just for collecting purposes - I would never think of wearing them. The designs mostly looked slapped together, like an after thought, with no sense of taste or fashion. (Although I've considered wearing my light blue Tusk shirt that simply has a penguin on the front side). I would wear your t-shirts. In fact, you should immediately be put on retainer with the band (replacing Chris Nicks or whatever hack they usally assign) and design the artwork for everything they release, including their cds, promo collateral etc.. Do you work as a graphic designer? If not, you should!

you have made my day! thank you so much for the kind words. I do in fact work as a graphic deisgner... and oddly enough it was partly Stevie and the Mac that inspired me in that direction way back in 82/83. you know, back when albums, singles and tour merch all had a great sense cohesiveness and fun...and taste. In the early and mid 80s i thought the Mac had the coolest merch (as did Stevie ...only in 83)... sadly ever since then i've always been dissapointed with the merch i find on tour (minus a very cool Tusk-esque tan tshirt they sold during the Dance tour.) But i am right there with you, most of the recent merch isnt very wearable around town. And yet, i go see other bands, and i find their merch VERY fashionable, wearable, affordable, and interesting (like someone put a lot of thought into the designs.)
I would gladly take on the job as merch designer for the band. hell, i'd do it for free! again... you made my day saying that. thanks again!!! of Quote:
