Brilliant!!! I'm no Pearl Jam fanatic, but I absolutely love this song, and Stevie could be amazing on this! The timing of the words and passion would totally suit her.

There is a great song written by Warren Zevon and Phil Everly, which appears on Phil's 1975 Mystic Line album, called 'Lion & The Lamb'. It has a frantic beat, ala Everybody Finds Out. Every time I hear it, all I can do is think of how great Stevie would sing it (not that Phil's version is poor by any means). I would post it here for a listen if I wasn't a complete computer knucklehead............

Sorry, but I hate the thought of Don't Stop Believin'. I think it's a great song, but there's no way Stevie could sing it. I don't mean this to be critical of her in any way......very few people can hit those Steve Perry notes. And I think those notes are part of what makes the song great, so I also think a rearrangement would turn the song mediocre.

If Bob Welch can cover Rhiannon then perhaps she should keep it in the family and consider covering this tracklist:

The Ghost
Dust
Future Games
Woman of 1000 Years
Black Magic Woman
Revelation
Tell Me All The Things You Do
Lay It All Down
Oh Well
Hypnotized
Green Manalishi
Night Watch
Dragonfly
Bermuda Triangle
Rattlesnake Shake

I guess the title " Stevie Nicks - Fleetwood Mac Before My Fleetwood Mac Years" would be a bit unwieldly but I would love to hear her cover these songs.

I wouldn't mind if Stevie did a cover album, but I'd much prefer a rock era one to a standards one (which I think is more likely, infortunately)

Some songs I think would be good....

Scarlet Begonias - The Grateful Dead (The Lyrics are perfect for Stevie!!)
The Mountain Wins Again - Blues Traveler
Mr. Tamborine Man - They Byrds
Listen To Her Heart - Tom Petty (gotta be a Tom cover on this!)
If You're Going To San Francisco - Scott McKenzie
California Dreaming (with Special Guest, Lindsey Buckingham!!!) - The Mama's And The Papas
Famous Final Scene - Bob Seger
The Best Of Everything - Tom Petty
Bed Of Roses - Bon Jovi
Into The Mystic - Van Morrison (In my fantasy cd, this is the title track)
Delta Lady - Joe Cocker
Just Like Stevie Nix - Calexico
The Last Worthless Evening - Don Henley
My Back Pages - Bob Dylan
Little Wing - Jimi Hendrix
You Wear It Well - Rod Stewart
Annie's Lover - Dave Carter

and the bonus track....I know I will get flamed for this, so I will appologize in advance, but I've always wondered what it would sound like...

so....

Songbird - Fleetwood Mac (with ALL respect to Christine, btw...)

I know, I know...but I want to reiterate...I love Christine's song by Christine (and FM, of course) just thought, as this is a mythical covers album, it would be cool to hear Stevie's take on it...a cover's album is sort of 'in tribute' to the original songs anyway, so it would be Stevie paying homage to Christine's best song...

Just lookin out for ya, lol. The idea was really her redoing guys songs. Personally, I would like to hear Stevie at least attempt, Songbird... Maybe not in cd format, or on this tour, but maybe a random youtube video would be cool.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll be picking this one up the same time as that blues standards CD she's gonna get David Foster to produce. (anybody remember that one? )

Also...........

Just about any Bob Seger song would be great, but I heard 'Rock N Roll Never Forgets' today, and that would just be awesome. It would be a major Tambourinefest! (But I'd want her to dust off the ol' mammoth 'Gold & Braid' one!!!)

And it's a given that just about any Tom Petty song would be great. It kills me in the Rolling Stone Photo Shoot video when she is singing along to 'Letting Go'. She just sounds fantastic. And I love that song.

I appreciate it! I don't necessarily think it would be good for her to do live (I don't mind getting flamed, but I don't want her to! ) but I stick by my wish to hear her do it somewhere...out there....

i would love to hear Stevie do one of Jim Steinmans epic songs. Any of the Meatloaf songs would rock with Stevies vocals!

That thought never crossed my mind I bet she would rock it out... I would like to hear her do something like Object in the Rearview Mirror (May Appear Closer than they Appear...) What are your thoughts on that? Or did you have something like Two out of Three???

I think I might be able to answer this one. In the notes on the "Timespace" album, she talks about "Talk To Me" It was written by Chas Sandford, who also co wrote the song "Missing You" with John Waite. The melody to the song does sound a little similar to "Talk To Me". But "Talk To Me", is not "Missing You". They are 2 completely different songs. That's why I said that Stevie would do a great job singing that song because it does sound a lot like "Talk To Me", and I know she could do an outstanding job on it.

Wouldn't she? My thing is, I wonder if enough time has passed since TIna Turner's version???
