An answer from designbyhumans regarding the changing of the first prize.

"Although we have every intention on having the winner meet the band, The Management from Fleetwood Mac could not “guarantee” a meet and greet. So, for legal purposes, we had to remove that piece of the prize. The wording “an opportunity to meet the band” was just too loose. We apologize and hope that the $150 in itunes downloads helps ease the pain."

Since they responded to the backstage pass question, perhaps someone should email them for specific details with regard to the availability of the 'winning' t-shirt as official promotional material for this FM tour (e.g. is FM selling the f'in t-shirt amongst all other t-shirts at the concerts or not?!)

The real question is: Does FM even know about this contest?

I think their management at least must know about it because otherwise they wouldn't be able to sell the winning t-shirt on the site because of copyright issues concerning using the name of the band etc. It's probably something dreamed up between the record or PR company and that website though, in order to promote the tour. I doubt the band actually know about it.

I'm amazed but not surprised that Fleetwood Mac appears to be so disconnected from their fans, as well as from the generalities of their marketing i.e. release dates and ticket prices. They choose live in a buffered alien-like bubble.

They completely absolve themselves and leave it all up to some idiotic management team, which with they likely have very little contact. That is why we don't get the product we know is out there that we want: DVDs, remastered CDs, unreleased stuff etc... Much smaller bands give so much more to their smaller fan base.

I now realize that certain bands (certain members) that are involved and enagaged with their fan base as well as in the production of products, graphic images, etc.. --provide their fans with far better product in general.

Like my family, I love Fleetwood Mac, but they annoy the hell out of me.

I'm surprised (and I say this with love) that the "money whore" of the band (Mick) isn't all over stuff like this. He seems to be one always pushing these sorts of things.

Off subject, I know, but why would they change that prize??? Someone tell me why this band does not want any sort of relationship with people who have given them EVERYTHING they have??? I am a little upset about this... Not eveyboody can afford these package prices to meet them, and SHOULDN'T HAVE TO!!! This band needs to remember why they are here! Because of us. Period. I am sorry... I am sure that this is ramblings that will doubtlessly start an uproar of disapproval, but THESE TEE SHIRTS ROCK! You all kicked so much ASS! (yeah, I said it...) You deserve to have your shirts out there, and to meet these people you have worked for, spent time on, and spent your money on. AAARRRRRGGG!!!!!
