I always thought Mick welcomed a percussion community along side him.
![]() So it is rather odd that has been eliminated. I agree with Regina....I like the backup singers in a Stevie solo show setting but not with Fleetwood Mac. JMHO.

I think the background singers have their place....oohh's and ahhh's and SUBTLE backing vocals on certain songs but it really gets me when you have backing singers on GYOW, The Chain, Tusk etc. Songs that need to be loud and rocking don't really have a place for the backing vocalists that the Mac employs. Plus it just seemed like they were too much in the mix on any SYW show I heard...too loud and too intrusive.

I agree. Though, I liked them on Beautiful Child. The way they layered the verses. Singing different things, intensifying the emotion. The arrangement was impressive. Michele |

I tend to believe that Walfredo was misinformed about the percussion.

Can't imagine them doing a tour without any additional percussion to go along with Mick. So much would be missing from various songs. Things that just one guy on the drums can't do. Although I am a Mick fanatic (taught myself to play drums using almost nothing but FM songs and copying Mick's style until I knew what I was doing, but still the "Mickness" of my drumming remains!) I know he can't do it all alone on percussion!!
Asante from the "Tango" and "BTM" tours would be awesome, and much closer to Mick's original percussion roots. Seeing them do a combo drum/percussion solo in the middle of some song would be fantastic!! As I've said in previous posts, I'm open to suggestions about where that drum solo could take place if it were not to be during "World Turning". (Honestly I don't understand the ferocity of some who want "WT" out of the set. Are they just bored with it or is it some kind of "we're done with Mick" kind of thing? It's odd.) As long as whomever they get to do percussion is high quality (can't imagine they'd pick someone that wasn't) then I'd be satisfied. |

I think its just a sad fact that she really needs them at this stage. I love Stevie, I love her deep, rich, soulful voice. But she's over 60, and unfortunately, to alot of peoples heartbreak, cant hold the original melody lines we all know, especially for songs such as Rhiannon, Gypsy, etc. So as much as it'll be some bit annoying to have the three girls in the background for everything, I think they are a neccesity for Stevie's songs... that's just what I think though! ![]()

Without Christine's voice to take the edges off and add some harmony, they still need back up for quite a few of their songs. |
