I wish they had given this song a little intro for the SYW tour. I think that really would have made a difference in the way the crowd responded to it. But it didn't go over and they just dropped it like a hot rock. Michele

Michele do you know how many times they performed the song before it was dropped?

Just Madison.

Having heard a boot of this song, I can see why they dropped it after Madison - it sucked. Rather than being a blistering rocker like it was on the Live album and on Shake the Cage, it was just flat- no fire or vigor to it at all. And surely they could have sung it in a higher key...

I've been thinking about the whole "hits tour" concept and Im still not sure its going to be radio hits. Imagine if Springsteen or Dylan did a "hits tour". By the definition of "radio hit", their shows would be pretty short. The Mac might not suffer from that as much, but the majority of the radio hits were from Christine, and they cant replicate all of them without her. Im thinking its more hits over the years with fans rather than radio hits. Just a theory!

I had NO idea that they did Don't Let Me Down Again on the SYW tour. ( I swear, you learn something new every time you come on this site!
) All I have to say is that you East Coasters are lucky! They ALWAYS start on the East Coast and then make their way west, which means that any experimenting is already done with by the time they get here. I'd rather hear a less-than-stellar version of Don't Let Me Down Again than some other song that I've heard a bunch. Kevin |
