I don't think anyone was criticizing you. Seems to me that poster was just saying what he would (or wouldn't) do personally. Just his own opinion. Why be so defensive? ![]() And seriously, how DO you get all that time off from work? ![]() |

I haven't seen those guys since 2003. I felt I should see them again because I've heard they've improved their offerings.

From who did you hear that. How can you improve between your 55th and 60th?

In David's defense, what he is doing is nothing I haven't seen before. Every band/artist has a devoted following that thinks nothing of seeing twenty or more shows a tour. As long as he isn't stalking the MAC, and acting wack thinking that he's their best bud, then what's the harm? At least he's not hanging out at their hotel hoping to hook up.
Far more questionable behavior is exhibited now days by thirty-something women camped out in hotel lobbies or bars trying to hook-up with some married rock star twice their age after the show. That is disturbing. GAWD! And, the sad thing is they don't care who the star is or if he is married or not. The fact is, the more minor the star, the more young women flock his way. I guess they think he's at least get-able. This past New Year's Eve, I met 3 middle-aged married women who had left their husbands and children at home and separately traveled thousands of miles from their homes to hang out with complete strangers in a motel bar along an interstate highway in SoCal in hopes that Rick Springfield would show up after his show at a local casino. They were fans who met either at the show or through his chat forum. The guy is sixty years old and has been married to the same woman for almost thirty years. They were in their late thirties, maybe early forties and had heard that "he played around." When I asked them why they weren't at home celebrating with their significant others and family, they said because they were "exercising their independence." Independence my behind! All I know is that, when I was their age and married, I spent the holidays, especially New Years Eve with my husband not complete strangers in some flea-bag motel bar trying to feel like "an insider." But that's just my two cents. Rock on David! ![]() Carol-Lynn SoCalGalNow ![]() |

Hey Carol-Lynn! Fancy seeing you around here!
![]() As for how many concerts are too many, what behavior is too extreme... I say, follow your joy. As long as you aren't hurting anyone (or yourself), I have no quarrel with you. Last edited by sodascouts; 01-26-2009 at 07:51 PM.. |

So far Toronto on the 26th for sure, but I want to hit Pittsburgh, too, $ permitting, since Pittsburgh is so close.

May 20 Oracle arena in Oakland ..but only if they play at least one of the two songs above or Storms..which is highly doubtful since they are doing yet another Rumours rehash instead of making the braver more inspired choice by celebrating Tusk in the year of it's 30th anniversary.

So far I am going to the Pittsburgh show for sure. There are a lot of other shows that are pretty close to me as well but I wont push my luck since I will be starting a new job soon and have some credit card debt to pay off from being off of work. That is my dream though to have the cash and the time to follow fleetwood mac around for a while. It wouldnt matter to me if they did the same set list every night. I just love seeing the Mac!!!
