Default Amex presale and passwords?

Where does one get the password for the Amex presales? How does this whole process work anyway? I've never bought anything in a presale.

I think you have to create your userid here:

http://entertainment.areyouacardmember.com/

unfortunaley for me, it will work only for AMex with billing address within US and some europe countries.

Are you already an AMEX cardholder? If so, no password needed (in my experience) because your card number is acting as your password

The phone number on the back of your card is the password.

My advice... call your AMEX rep from the phone # on your card. I am sure they will provide guidance if a password is needed. My AMEX rep was very helpful. It is one of their perks for a being a card member, so I am sure they can provide info.

Talking AMEX/Passwords

Here is the down-low for presales:

For AMEX:

Fee-based AMEX cards get the best seats in this order:

Platinum, Centurion, and Small Business card holders get offered the best seats. Use the customer service number on the back of the card minus the leading 1. You must charge the tickets to an AMEX card.
Platinum members can also call concierge services to get presale tickets.
Gold Cardholders get offered the next best tickets and again they use the customer service number minus the leading 1 on the back.
Note: I have also seen them use the password AMEX but again those seats are not the best in the house as it is generic. Each level of fee based cards has it's own customer service number.

Non-Fee-based cards get either back floor or loge.

AMEX Blue and Green usually get either the back floor or loge seats. They don't need a password. There is a separate menu item for non-fee-based AMEX cards.

Other pre-sales:

Nokia Ticket Rush, a subsidiary of LiveNation, will also probably have a pre-sale. They did for the first leg of the tour. They issue a generic password that anyone can get and use and it is essentially worthless. They get what's left over from the AMEX pre-sale which predates other pre-sales by at least a week. This month the pre-sale password is pianoYou can use it for any nokia ticket rush presale this month regardless of the venue and regardless of the artist.

Other Sources

Lastly, there are many sites on the web who will post generic radio and venue pre-sale passwords; just google. WiseGuys is the easiest to use. Here is their hyper-link: http://www.tmpresale.com/
But just remember that everyone and their uncle will have those passwords and your chances of getting a good seat are next to none. Better to wait until the general sale. Remember the Mac, like the Eagles, are notorious for dropping primo seats the day before or the day of.

Default Jan 17th AMEX Presales

FYI all the AMEX presales sucked. Best I could do was the 16th row here in Los Angeles. Of course I passed.

16th row? That sucks. You would expect something much better from a presale.
Honestly I've never been to a concert where I wasn't in the first five rows if not front and center. A couple of years ago I paid 35 bucks for a ticket to a Bonnie Raitt concert and ended up directly in front of her mic.
I guess I'll just get a half-recent ticket now and try my luck a few days before the concert for a better seat as some have suggested.

Anyone using a non-US AMEX - it will work if you use the US enquiry number as the password as Carol-Lynn noted earlier in this thread (8005284800) and you pay with your AMEX.

But, the AMEX presale seats are crap - I have posted my experience in the general thread about presales.
