Do you think at least 10,000 will show up for each show?

The eventual plan ('10-'11) is to package it as a farewell tour, so I wouldn't be surprised if the "Unleashed" (pre-album) touring period is shorter than previously planned.

Worst case scenario, of course, is FM tanking so bad they literally put promoters out of business (which happened TWICE on the SYW tour, with the canceled Memphis date, and the North Dakota play that BOMBED)
Luke, I was at that Grand Forks ND date on 8-19-03. I can tell u that there were only 8,000 people at that show. Also, I was at the Buffalo SYW show in 2003
on 5-15-03 and I had nosebleed seats and they moved me down to the lower level.

Yes, and at least 500-1000 were there with comps. The city of Grand Forks and a independent promoter partnered on the date, and lost a ton of money- mainly because they were stupid enough to 1) pay rack rate without any real negotiation, and 2) not pull the plug on the date before it took place to save on costs... although to be fair, they may have tried to negotiate a cancellation fee with the band to no avail.

It got a bit contentious between the promoter/city & FM. (here's a thread from the Ledge that discussed this as it was happening - http://ledge.fleetwoodmac.net/archiv...p/t-11306.html)

I hadnt read that stuff before. Boy it did get a bit nasty didnt it? The main reason I went to that show is because it was only a 4 hour drive from Minneapolis up there and I could drive back without having to stay overnight. Also, I thought the placing of the date of that show was bizarre as they played Kansas City on 8-13, St Louis on 8-15, and Cincinnati on 8-16, hen went all the way to GF on 8-19. Seemed weird to me.

It's all about the cycles and appreciating one's celebrity.

We were calling someone on the carpet for a bunch of **** that went down. I don't know if you were around then. It was a pretty big deal back then. It was contentious but true.

I'm assuming you're talking about Trinity & Jonathan Todd. JT was (and still is) completely clueless, but Trinity absolutely got a bad rap. We ended up running into each other at several shows, and he was always a great guy. I dare anyone who's ever met him to say otherwise.

I can second that. He is a good guy from what I could tell.

Luke brought up a point in a previous post that made me think. Where he said the FM people are probably discussing shortening or not lengthening the tour beyond say 45 or so shows. Maybe that will give them more time to go back in the studio to make a record before they go back out in say late 2010? See the glass really is half full.

Yes. For all the people who assumed that he was JT's minion, he chose to BUY front row tickets for opening night of the SYW tour in Columbus (sitting between me, and the kooky mother & daughter who swore up and down they weren't involved with a website that will go unnamed- ah, memories). He's a big fan. We ran into each other in several other cities across the Midwest- I hope for his sake he's going to Rosemont, St. Paul, and whatever shows are added in the region.

Now that's REALLY intelligent! You say otherwise in bold letters, then challenge Luke, but yet you give no reason for your statement or anything to back it up. you just pretty much shot yourself in the ass pal.

Hu? He dared someone to say the word OTHERWISE. So I said it. He is the only ass here. He calls other Ledgies "ignorant" when he doesn't agree with a comment. That is an ASS.

It *is* ignorant to make a judgment based on only one piece of information- and suggesting that the touring industry is recession-proof solely based on the fact that the grosses were at an all time high IS ignorant. I'm not an "ass".

Now, have you met Trinity, or were you just trying to make said ironic comment/statement?
