Why do a Rumours box before remastering Mirage, which is the epitome of a bad-sounding CD put out in the 80's?
SteveMac, you can't really count different formats as a re-release.
And I disagree that the DVD-A and Remastered Ex. Edition didn't sound
all that different.

I wish like the rest of you that they would remaster Mirage and Tango,
and even the pre-Buckingham Nicks era albums. But would they sell?

This last bit of information is just a guess on my part, and has nothing to
do with anything I've heard officially (I kind of hope I'm wrong too). But
I think the video that will be released with the updated version of Rumours
will be like what was released with Stevie's "Crystal Visions". Follow me?

(Again that's not official)

Me too. I've got a bootleg but I'd love an official high-quality DVD release.

So when I meet Mick I am gonna say, "Hey, why not give us what we want? A Fleetwood Mac (ALL INCLUSIVE) Documentary BOX SET?!" I think that is what we all would like to see. Get it on a general, usable, and easy to use format then BRING IT TO US! We all want it. OFFICIAL, and PAID FOR! ya know? Maybe he will say that I have great ideas and take me on the road with him raking in millions, lol! A fella can dream, can't he?

Have you seen that Beatles video box? Can you imagine an all-inclusive Fleetwood Mac box? One that would have every video and professionally recorded show in the band's history? Two DVDs of the Peter Green years (if there's enough material). One DVD from the Welch years (maybe with Fleetwood Mac-related clips from the Roxy video, to fill out the DVD, since there's not that much video footage from that era). Largo. Rosebud. Japan. Tusk Doc. Mirage concert video. Tango In The Night (expanded/unedited). Another Link In The Chain. Classic Albums. The Dance. Live In Boston. Music videos. History of the band DVD. I'm sure it would be harder than hell to clear all of those copyrights, but the thought kicks ass. Yeah, I'd fork over big bucks for something like that. In a heartbeat.

Yeah. No more re-hashes of Rumours. I can't take it. They don't need to sell any more copies of Rumours.

If I could speak frankly with Mick...I'd say this:

Get someone like Dashut, who is probably doing jack all, to remaster the 80s albums (Mirage, Tango).

They need to release the Mirage concert remastered on DVD.

The Tusk tour Documentary needs a DVD release.

The Dance needs a new DVD release, in widescreen, with bonus footage (hell, there were 3 nights that were filmed!!) Put them out! PERIOD.

And on top of all that, they need to do whatever they need to do to get Christine back. They're missing a small part of the "magic."

And there were 2 nights of Mirage. I don't need them to reedit footage or anything. Just put the concerts out the way they were filmed. And let us judge the different takes for ourselves. I'd enjoy seeing that more than the lightened, sweetened finished product they give us any time.

They'd sell enough. I have plenty of remastered albums by bands that haven't even sold as many albums in total as probably the lowest selling Fleetwood Mac album (any era). If these bands can justify it then so can Fleetwood Mac for albums that sold 5 million copies.

Good call dude. Wouldn't it make more sense to release everything in 1 huge package aimed at diehard fans, rather than to continue putting out the same album over & over again in the hopes that all the casual fans will buy it..again?

Most big fans (myself included) would be more than willing to spend a couple hundred bucks on a sweet package that contains the stuff you mentioned above. But I don't know that too many casual fans are going to say "hey, it's a NEWER release of Rumours with a DVD. Hmm...I just bought a copy a few years back, but I'll buy another in case there's something different on this one."

I was just reading some DVD reviews and one new release is for the game show Password, highlights from 1962-1967. Huh??

Don't get me wrong, I will buy this DVD. They had some celebrity contestants on that show that I would like to see (young Letterman and Woody Allen, etc.). I'm just saying if there's a market for that kind of thing, I know they could make money by just opening up the FM vault. Why is Mick, who could always use a dollar, hoarding everything?

^ I've said it before & I'll say it again - bands & artists who are less well-know/popular with much lower sales figures than Mac have released comprehensive collections containing most (if not all) of their albums remastered & old footage on DVD. Why not Mac?
