I honestly don't think Stevie was trying to play the martyr here.

The gist of what she was trying to convey to Sheryl, as I read it, is that you never really know how long a tour with Fleetwood Mac might last. You can assume that you'll probably only do X amount of shows, but soon find yourself committing to far more -- even if you aren't necessarily having the best time.

It's the old "Fleetwood Mac is bigger than all of us" thing.

At any rate, I'm not saying you're wrong -- you and I just viewed her intentions differently.

I bet Stevie was kind of miffed that Lindsey made it all sound like crossing the line, or premature ejaculation on Sheryl's part.

Well, if the only reason Stevie could give for going to that studio for two days was "because we should", then I'm not surprised that Sheryl questioned its importance. And yes, Stevie does act like the number of tour dates is determined by drawing a ping pong ball from a bingo cage. "We drew 135! What bad luck!"

Haha! I could imagine Stevie sitting in the studio all alone in the dark after waiting hours and hours for her..."Where the hell is Sheryl!?"

Well, Lindsey's response to it came off kind of mildly horrified. I know I was horrified when I read what Sheryl said, like, nooooo, you can't do that!

So perhaps it wasn't quite that the whole band really thought bringing Sheryl along was a good idea...

Stevie's spending all this time playing games with Sheryl in a studio, why not record some songs for an album while you're at it.

Dude! Something tells me Sheryl Crow reads a contract before SHE signs it, and after two or three lawyers on her payroll give her the low down.

Can't wait to read the whole interview. Which issue is it going to be in? The one with Brad Pitt on the cover?

I agree with this 100%. I'm not saying Fleetwood Mac isn't hard work or that it doesn't require a lot of dedication, but get a perspective.

Well, she was. And Lindsey had to throw in that Stevie was mad at Sheryl too. So, I don't think Stevie's version of what happened is the truth, but I know why she put it out there, because Lindsey just went loco with his scenario. Stevie said that people were getting a different story about Sheryl's involvement and she wanted to counteract it, she just didn't say where they were getting that story from: Curly.

Too funny.

She said that "we" put Sheryl on the speaker phone in the car. Who is "we?" Her and Karen? Michele

I wouldn't get offended by this. Stevie wasn't comparing touring with serving in any branch of the armed forces during war. She's made similar statements for years, and in the context of this article she was trying to explain to Sheryl that being in a band like Fleetwood Mac is like being in the army because you can't "call out". You can't not go to rehearsals because it's mother's day. You can't sleep till noon when the bus leaves at 9 am for the next venue, just because the baby was up all night. She was basically saying, unlike a regular job, and similar to the Army in this case, the commitment doesn't stop when you leave the arena to go back to your hotel room. As others have said, she wasn't even doing it to complain, but to be straight forward with Sheryl.

I think Stevie has a very clear understanding of the sacrifice and commitment the people serving in all the branches of the military make, and has shown her support publicly in a time when it perhaps is not that fashionable to do so

Ohh yes, it had to be Karen. Stevie needed Karen to push the speaker phone button for her when she got the call.

It is NOT in the Brad Pitt issue, unless it's so tiny, I have overlooked it.
