yes dave 10,000 seat arena i have seen other prices on the ticketmaster they seem cheaper at other venues i don't know if its the casino but when stevie played here the tickets were $75 bucks for all the seats and when she played here with don henley on two voices tour they were $75, $95 and $125. the higher price show could be i heard sheryl crow is heading lining as well but not sure if that is true. so they prices have gone up a bit from the say you will tour i think and also I was expecting it. but will try to get one ticket i hope she brings out Sisters of the moon.

I have this maniacle obsession with them not reworking Mirage. I feel like it is a slap in the fans face. I mean they are suppose to be this band who demands only the best yet they released that badly recorded work. Go figure.
They really need to do remastered releases of Mirage, TITN, and BTM. I don't get why they don't. Lesser known bands who have way lower sales figures do it all the time - rerelease their entire body of work remastered. I do not have a clue why Mac doesn't do the same, and don't get me started on La Nicks.

Same crappy set list, same crappy venues and cities, same outrageous prices. I doubt in this economy that many of the top priced tickets will move. I do think if the $50.00 range tickets are not that bad that they will go rather quickly. I do have a friend that wants to see a show but she just doesn’t have the $ for the top tickets. I think that many people are in the same boat.
I still can’t figure out why there isn’t a Providence date. Not just for Fleetwood Mac but for other bands like Motley Crue who seem to overlook this market.
I think much of this has to do with the promoters. For some reason, only certain bands come through Buffalo - Stevie never comes here solo for example, but she always goes to Pittburgh & Cleveland. I am a bit perplexed by the Mac Rochester date, but no Buffalo. Mac has hit Buffalo every single tour since 1977 (maybe not Mirage? I'd have to look it up.) Maybe cuz it's in March & hockey's still going on? I dunno.

And the more I think about it, the more I think Mac is fooling themselves. They filled arenas in '97 because there was SO much excitement that those 5 members were touring together for the first time in 15 years. They did pretty well in '03/'04 because there was new material for people to want to hear, and because they hit many markets that were missed in '97. What is there for casual fans to get excited about this time?

Hello, Al! I remember you! Remember those great circus pics you took & shared with us? Anyway, there's something else building & building in the economic markets these days that is new to the recent scene: Consumers are often irresponsible & spend money they don't have by putting their purchases on credit & then paying down that credit in the up & up (or the Never-Never). But worldwide credit markets are shrunken & banks & credit card issuers aren't extending the credit limits with abandon, to put it mildly. I don't know how the entertainment industry in general will fare throughout '09, but I can't help thinking that it will hurt -- just like every other industry. Fans Joe & Jane may want to see Fleetwood Mac for a few nights (for $130 a pop), but they may not be able to squeeze such a purchase onto their already grossly overleveraged credit card balances. Open your credit card statements, folks, & read the fine print. Your limit may have been lowered.

I don't get it either. Springsteen played Rochester and Buffalo this year so maybe a Buffalo date will get added later but I doubt it. Springsteen can draw more fans than the Mac at this point and could get away with the two shows. Stevie I believe played in Buffalo in 1983. I believe the Mac has missed Buffalo a few times since '77 - they played Tusk here in 1980, and if I'm not mistaken, didn't come back until The Dance (and then of course for Say You Will). The Mirage Tour didn't come this way and I'm fairly certain the Rick and Billy years didn't come here either. Maybe during the Time era they got here somewhere but I can't recall.

I'm definitley annoyed about no Buffalo show. When they played in '97 they were the fastest selling event in the Arena's history (okay, so it was barely open a year at that point but still....) and I believe they had a sell out here in '03. Oh well, I am planning on show #1 in Pittsburgh instead.

Edit - can't be because of hockey. I've been to concerts at the arena in March (in fact I saw Springsteen there last March). Must be a stupid promoter leaving B-lo off the MacMap.

[QUOTE=BigAl84;786796]I
I don't know - but i'm predicting some major back peddling. Plus who are they kidding - EVERY tour is a hits tour, sure they sprinkled in 3-5 new songs but then they cut them out within the first month of the tour. Sara and Beautiful Child don't count - the lightbulb in their heads to cover those should of gone off freakin decades ago..those should remain staples.

I really enjoyed your post...especially that pithy observation. I think Fleetwood Mac is one of the most mis-managed bands around. But, then again, most of it is self-inflicted.

I think you're right about that. That's why just seeing them Live is a miracle.

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Totally agreed. They are their own worst enemies with so many decisions over the years. Songs like "If You Were My Love" or "Smile at You", which seem to be beloved by fans in demo form, are shelved permanently or show up many years too late in unrecognizable form. There's a lot of others too, those are just the first two Stevie tunes that come to mind.

As far as a live band, the Mac, from what I've read in other band's discussion boards, are very well respected. I think a lot of people have always been pleasantly surprised that a pop/rock band, with such produced and polished studio work, can put on such a loud, rocking, raw performance. But then again, to the fans who see the band on every tour (or multiple times on each tour), they really don't try to offer anything new or push themselves too much. And it's not age either, they've been doing this for years.

When it comes to the setlist, really, has Fleetwood Mac in the 75-90,97-present form really ever changed things up? A few new songs here and there and the random "lost track" (Beautiful Child, Silver Springs, revised versions of SYLM and Big Love, etc). It's frustrating because with some imagination and risk, I tend to think the Mac could put on an even better show than they already do (and let's face it, they do put on a great show). For some reason it took about 20 years to bring Sara back to life because it was hard to recreate live? Oh come on - you could do it from 79-82 with five people on stage and you mean to tell me that you couldn't put something together with the entourage that has taken the stage over since 87? Lindsey has slowly brought some more Tusk songs into the set, but there's more - where is The Ledge, WMYTYTO, That's All for Everyone, etc?

We should take bets on what the first song will be in Pittsburgh. Seriously, as awesome as it is to hear The Chain, I might just have to scream at someone if they open with that song yet one more time!

Okay - rant over. I'm a fan of this band and I will see them next year...I just think they are not maximizing their potential by exploring the excellent back catalog that they have at their fingerprints.

I completely agree with you. I think that while they do an amazing show, we expect (rightly) better from them. Instead of doing just an all hits concert (which they can do with their library), they could do a concert with the songs that really are dying to be done live (songs like Book of Love, WMYTYTO, The Ledge, I Don't Wanna Know and more). I would love it if they'd open with something other than the Chain, like Monday Morning. That mix and the new songs would completely change what it means to be a re-united Mac tour.

And while we're talking about demos, we are still waiting for My Little Demon and Given Thing to be released. [By the way, does anyone have demo 1 of Given Thing?]

They could easily do a "hits" (I really HATE that word being used for the tour) oriented show and still get in some bits of different eras and some Buckingham Nicks stuff....if you assume they do about 24 songs again...

Tusk
Dreams
Oh Well (never understood dropping this in '97)
Seven Wonders
What Makes You Think You're The One
Gold Dust Woman
Angel
Book of Love
Tango in the Night
Frozen Love
Crystal
Gypsy
Oh Daddy (Stevie on lead vocals)
Save Me a Place
Landslide
Rhiannon
Blue Letter
Hold Me (Lindsey on lead vocals)
I'm So Afraid
Everybody Finds Out
Go Your Own Way
The Chain (encore)
Sisters of the Moon (encore)
Say Goodbye (encore)

...and you could do this much easier and get even more in if there were say five slots in a set that were rotated each night. Rhiannon or Gold Dust Woman, I'm So Afraid or Come or Tango in the Night...Monday Morning or Second Hand News, and so on.

Wow. That's a tough call.
They didn't sell out at all the last time they were there. It was a decent crowd, I guess, but not a sell-out.
But, when I went to the Eagles in May (I think?)--and I do believe they had 3 nights at the Garden, it was PACKED. So, maybe they are thinking they could do the same with the Mac. I mean, they haven't been around as a group for five years, so...maybe?
And, again, the casual fan would probably love to hear the hits.

Oh, and that's really weird. Coming back around to NYC after Canada. Really weird. Maybe Atlantic City and Philly aren't far behind. I wish they would announce all of it at once.
