It's great to be have a new FM tour to talk about and we love the way old ledgies are peeking in again, renewing long time friendships. But one problem with a multitude of off topic posts is that it makes it harder for people who are not participating in the personal conversations to actually read posts regarding the subject that the thread is supposed to be about. The one liners can be distracting for other readers.

We are moving the strings of off topic banter into Chit Chat. Joking is great, but not to the extent that it hijacks a thread discussion. Please refrain from doing this.

Why is this such a big deal? So the thread was moved and now there's a nice long, funny thread here, instead of there. I honestly do not get why the actions on a message board could incite such anger.

Well, I came in this morning all excited that there were actually new posts to read here, and I can't make sense of a damn post in here because the first bunch were totally unrelated!

Ledgies have never been able to stay on topic for long, that's half the fun. Well, it used to be anyway. The swerves off-topic & one-liners never used to be a big deal & shouldn't be. JMO, of course.

I get that (and the rest of what you're saying). What I don't understand is the anger and what I perceive to be a pretty over-exaggerated reaction to the moving of the thread. It wasn't banned or censored, just moved. It feels like some folks are just ready to pounce on anything to badmouth The Ledge, the owner, whatever.

Anyway, I enjoy the off topic one-liners, even though I am slow and never understand half of what is being said. However, I can see how it may be hard for some to navigate through and when you're in a rush it could be a pain in the ass to wade through it when you just want to see tour dates!

Does that not strike anyone else as rude? Seriously, it's the Ledge...anyone who has been around knows how people get. A lot of us are friends, and friends tend to joke. Had the archives not been deleted, I'd say go back and check all of the back and forth banter between a lot of us. Not a small clique, either. There used to be convos going on between dozens of people. God forbid we try to bring that back and attempt to breathe a little life into this place!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. This is a message board! About a blues/rock/SoCal pop band! Not an authoritarian nation. Try not to get carried away with "the power"

I have never left.

I have been very busy traveling around putting my nursing skills to work thankyouverymuch. My days of overpopulated postings were during my college days, when procrastination overrided actually studying.

But alas, if you want to shut out everyone, so be it.
