She seemed friendly toward Bob Welch but now he thinks "doesn't like him very much". I don't think she cared for him suing them.

I kind of agree. But, they were all so young then, and I am sure the drugs clouded things.

In the end, I think these interviews are great. I think they show a side of her that really does not in the end want to do anything outside of FM, but she perhaps feels compelled to. I love when she speaks of FM as amongst the best players, so why look elsewhere I would have LOVED to have seen her hire the other four for session work at her guidance

I enjoyed these a lot! But I'm surprised about her dislike of playing in keys that have a "black note root." I can understand that playing in a key with a lot of sharps or flats is tricky for a beginner, but Chris is a professional, and very good, keyboard player. I wonder if she doesn't like those keys because they're harder to play in, or is there some other reason. Although she seems to be admitting a limitation with this comment, this is the kind of thing that really interests me in interviews.

I think the interviewer asked a lot of good questions, particularly asking her about her songwriting process. Funny that she was thinking about covering an Everly Brothers song for the solo record. I also appreciate the interviewer's knowledge of and interest in Fleetwood Mac history ... so many interviewers think the whole thing started in 1975. It didn't seem like she liked Jeremy very much!

It doesn't matter how good or pro you are, there are always keys that are tougher to play in. Playing blues in A flat, for example, is tough, tough, tough. You have to work it out beforehand; you can't just attack it con brio on the fly. Numerous other keys are difficult, too, & are typically avoided by blues or rock musicians.

In fact, doesn't Chris say at the Bob Welch & Friends show that she didn't play the final jam because, even though it was a I-IV-V, it was in a rotten key for piano playing?

Thanks for the musician's viewpoint, David. As a beginner-level guitar player I am grateful for the capo. Don't electronic keyboards have a way to change the key with a flip of a switch? In other words, I play in A but it comes out in A flat. (I know this wouldn't work on a grand piano, tee hee.)

And I thought pretty much all pop music was a I-IV-V. (Tee hee, again.)

A lot of my jazz stuff is in Eflat or Aflat... it's funny doing scales is harder for me on the white keys than black keys... the black keys sort of form a picture in my mind... and anchor me... without them my fingering kind of gets lost... especially CMaj.

I guess I learn the inversions in the left hand so I'm not always playing root position...

Having said that I would die to be able to match Christine's style and idiosyncracies... she is very very unique in on the spot arranging... (flushing out chords) in rhythm especially... but intervals too...

You mean you have a tougher time playing a blues scale in C (C - Eb - F - Gb - G - Bb - C) than in something weird, like F#?
That's bizarre!

btw, you want to finger that blues scale thus: 1 - 2 -3 -4 - 1 (thumb under) - 2 - 3
