First Stand Back now this. Album's hit singles winning... It's just so boring!

Although I did just vote for Sara in the Tusk poll, so perhaps I ought to shut my cakehole.

This is really me favourite album by Stevie, not becasue i think it IS the best - just have a soft spot for the way it sounds.

It is also coincidently her most successful album in terms of chart position in my country (UK) which will probably shock all the US fans.

the Uk is a country where "the other side of the Mirror" was her only album to chart better than 10th (3rd). Her best ever singles chart position was rooms on fire (16th)!!!!

As she said to letterman once - "if you dont go there they wont like you". ... hint hint.
she came in 89 and hasnt been back (without Mac)

You know, generally speaking, I like OSOTM a lot. However, when you look at each of the songs singly, rather than as part of a whole album, some of them do seem horrible and cheesy. But when you're listening to all the tracks together, I actually really like it.

I love the album...But I think it would have been nice to see LWTG win.

well two kinds of love turns my stomach --- just for the line "one for the way you walk, one for the way you love me" - what a load of rubbish.

But Alice, oooh my love - amazing
rooms on fire, fire burning, cry wolf etc also very cool.

I'm in total agreement with you....I do love ROF but I think I like LWTG more......it would've so been a killer 'live' too....missed opportunity really....sad but true....IMO anyway...

I think Tango in the Night paved the way for the success of TOSOTM. That was a big album in Europe. Her chart history in the UK looks strange to me sometimes. For example, Bella Donna the album rose to number 11 without any real hit song. Stop Dragging My Heart around went to number 50, and that's it. Crazy!
