This was a discussion that we started to have in the All Political Posts thread that I wanted to follow up on.

If campaigns were judges by what their supporters do, which is what it looks like that you're doing with McCain, they'd all be in prison. Recall the Obama supporters that set the display on fire and put the old man in the hospital after assaulting him with bleach?
It seems more fair to judge the candidates on what they do themselves, rather than the idiots that spout stuff that attend their rallies. Remember, most people work during the day, so unless you're taking time off work, you're getting the dregs of society, who can say just about anything. |

I MEAN WTF ![]() I get that McCain stopped that one idiot, but I submit that was for show and a day late and a dollar short: I base this on McCain's allowance of the same kind of thing to continue unchallenged other than this one time. When people scream "KILL HIM" at what appears to be tge vast majority of your rallies loud enough to be picked up by the mic. - McCain and Palin certainly can hear that. Yet, they let it slide - they say nothing. They let it slide because it is the last hope they have to cling to. That hope is the bigots and racists whose thoughts that Obama was a Muslim extremist, much less, to use their words, a uppity n*gger, just cannot be the leader of America, which they see as white and Christian and anyone who thinks differently is unAmerican. I was in a rest. last weekend and this table of men in suits in their fifties were calling this "Sambo's Recession" (the thought of a black "Smabo" in the Oval Office sent the world wide markets into a tailspin) and then went on to say that they knew Obama was a Muslim who was funded by Osama bin Laden. These men appeared to be well educated businessmen. I was horrified. This is a profoundly sad day for McCain, who just a year or so ago, was an honorable man. Palin, on the other hand, has never had h0nor. Last edited by strandinthewind; 10-14-2008 at 07:45 PM.. |
