ROUND 11: Lindsey Buckingham Survivor: 21st Century Edition
ROUND 11 WILL DECIDE THE ULTIMATE 'best of the buck' SURVIVOR (WE WILL VOTE FOR FAVORITE IN A THREE-WAY POLL). I thought it would be fun to celebrate Lindsey's achievements this decade by running a Survivor Challenge of his released studio tracks. The rules are simple, vote to eliminate one track from each album. Now, we're down to one track per album. Those three tracks will battle for survival. The champ title: Lindsey Buckingham's best track in the 21st Century (so far). May the best Buck win! I will try to update this every day at noon. Votes only counted from the poll. Winner announced Monday! Say You Will Steal Your Heart Away <-----------Say You Will Survivor! Bleed To Love Her - Round 9 What's The World Coming To? - Round 8 Red Rover - Round 7 Say Goodbye - Round 6 Love Minus Zero/No Limit - Round 5 Murrow Turning Over In His Grave - Round 4 Peacekeeper - Round 3 Miranda - Round 2 Come - Round 1 vs. Under The Skin Down On Rodeo <-----------Under The Skin Survivor! Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind - Round 10 Cast Away Dreams - Round 9 Show You How - Round 8 It Was You - Round 7 Try For The Sun - Round 6 Under The Skin - Round 5 I Am Waiting - Round 4 Shut Us Down - Round 3 Not Too Late - Round 2 Flying Down Juniper - Round 1 vs. Gift of Screws Wait For You <-----------Gift of Screws Survivor! The Right Place To Fade - Round 9 Love Runs Deeper - Round 8 Gift of Screws - Round 7 Did You Miss Me - Round 6 Great Day - Round 5 Underground - Round 4 Bel Air Rain - Round 3 Treason - Round 2 Time Precious Time - Round 1

Wait For You.
I don't like UTS that much, so DOR is overlooked in my eyes. I LOVE SYHA. It's probably my favorite Mac LB song besides GOYW and the Dance's BTLH. But, I feel that it would be better without the stupid Stevie vocals in it [and when I listened to the unreleased GOS version I was right.] So WFY. Its awesome. It's upbeat while dark. It's basically a kickass song that is so unique. To me it doesn't sound like anything else he's done. And that is why it gets my vote. |

It's interesting to note that after all the voting by everyone that participated throughout this - we ended up with probably the safest tunes on each cd that we consider the "best" or survivors....
What's that saying? |

Well, I think Wait for You is less safe and mainstream than the other 2.
It's more edgy than DYMM. Michele |

They're all pretty safe choices. I have to vote for Down on Rodeo to win because it's my favourite of the three (despite my complaints of songs being too safe lol). I wish we'd had a few weirder songs left by this stage but I didn't expect it really and DOR is the perfect acoustic pop song IMO.

I actually would have prefered Love Minus Zero/No Limit or Red Rover over SYHA for the final round. but Hell, SYHA beats BTLH like no tomorow.
GOS I think that WFY is a perfect choice. Thats JMO. |

I think maybe the popularity of "Wait For You" is that it is such a complex song, so many layers and touches and each one of them has its own hook.

Fine. I will vote. But I won't be happy about it. Down on Rodeo is a great song, just not the best on the album IMO. SYHA I love, but I guess I will go with Wait for you. I see what you mean by we went with safe choices.

If I were to choose my three favorites from each album:
Say You Will: Steal Your Heart Away Under The Skin: Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind Gift of Screws: The Right Place to Fade Then, if I had to choose amongst those. . . it would be between Steal Your Heart Away and The Right Place To Fade. . . Between those two, right now I'd go with "The Right Place To Fade," but time will tell ![]()

Great Day should have lasted longer. TTFTS also, I voted DOR, it was a tossup between that and SYHA, but the memorable soundstage performance of DOR just swings it tbh, that's all.
