Kiln House video clip on YouTube

[macfan 57]

I just posted a new video on YouTube. This is a Fleetwood Mac(with Christine, of course) from the Kiln House era. Little snippets have been on YouTube before, but this is a longer clip.

Niiiiice footage.
Good to hear Townsend praise the band AFTER Peter, too.

Absolutely great clip. Thanks for posting, MacFan. I just love this configuration of the band. If only they had lasted a little longer.

What was this from, originally? And who is the child?

Thank you so much for this!

You know, The Madison Blues set gives us a glimpse of how this band configuration might have sounded in the studio ("Crazy Bout You Baby," "Purple Dancer," one version of "Station Man" and "Down at the Crown are all live-in-studio performances) but watching how relaxed and clean the sound of these five musicians was, I would have loved a whole album!

I liked really hearing Christine's harmonies on Station Man, too. They lend the chorus an unusual, rich texture.

Not sure about the child but the footage is from a 1971 documentary called "Black White & Blues" which talks about how Blues music had lived on through the "mostly white" British Blues boom etc. I think it had re-aired in Japan within the last decade sometime when someone over there must've grabbed it, hence it's circulation. I think the full thing was like an hour long or maybe 80 minutes but these 10 minutes were the best parts of course.

I've posted this before, but I made a compilation CD of this incarnation of Fleetwood Mac from various CD's. Most come from Madison Blues and Live At The BBC, with a single, a bootleg, and a song from the box set.

Crazy 'Bout You Baby
When Will I Be Loved [BBC]
Dragonfly [single]
Purple Dancer
Down At The Crown
I Can't Stop Loving
Open The Door
Lonely Without You
When I See [BBC]
Preachin' [BBC]
Baby It's Alright Now [bootleg]*
Trinity [box set]

*While the vocals are early Christine (not very good), the song sounds like a classic mid-up tempo Christine McVie song. I'd be curious to hear her remake this.

I've never heard "Baby It's Alright Now." Do you have a file to share?

Wow ... I am impressed.

All you need to make this a complete package is liner notes from Mike Vernon. (and some previously unreleased photos, LOL).

I'll upload it when I'm by my computer. I've been mainly using my company laptop for the internet these days.
