I agree.
If you're a recovered anything, you tend not to want other people to go the same route. Especially a dearly loved niece.
Especially if you are an aunt who has never had kids of her own and views Jessica as the keeper of the flame, so to speak.

But, Jessica sounds like she isn't listening to anyone right now except people who kiss her feet. And, sooner or later, a rude awakening is in store.
Drop the "Nicks" part of her name and show up to a regular modeling agency asking for a job.

That ought to be step 1 in realism lessons.

Wow, Im just picturing that magazine back from like 2001, that took a tour of Stevie's house, and there was that picture of Stevie, Lori and Jessica sitting at a tab;e, Jessica looking so cute and inocent and the 3 of them appearing so happy, and just as recently as SYW her singing on Say You Will still looking so innocent, this just makes me feel so sad expecially for Stevie and Lori.

And to whoever said, Lori gave up touring for her to turn out like this. Well she seemed to be doing OK all those years she wasn't touring with Stevie, it's only the past few years that this rebellion has been rearing, now Lori is back touring with Stevie, so Lori might've still helped.

Or scenerio number two and it was the other way around, Lori saw this situation we didn't see publically and is back touring with Stevie to escape and be surrounded by adoring fans who love mainly Stevie, but she sure knows Stevie's fans love them 2 back up singers who wonder why these danmed chickens are here.

And this makes me wonder what Stevie's thinking. Maybe this is the real reason she's in france. Maybe Rhiannon in the Rhiannon movie is now a rebellious tennaged niece witch.
Who's side would Stevie be on, Lori or Chris. All I ever hear is negative on here about Chris, but Stevie talks so danmed lovingly about him.

Stevie will always say nice things about her brother. She is the only who can
bad mouth him. I am sure she has had words with him, but not in public. She is probley disappointed in the way he is raising his daughter . Stevie can only
do so much. I think Lori touring with Stevie is one of the bright spots in Lori's
life. Stevie still refers to her as her sister-n-law, and I am sure that makes Lori
very happy. Stevie is not stupid, she may be letting her spoiled little niece dig
her own grave and then and only then will Jessica listen to anyone. The only way
one can learn is by their own mistakes...

Stevie is her aunt, doesn't make her repect Stevie anymore. I am sure Stevie

Hopefully Stevie stops the cash and lets us neice know the difference of
living a rich life and and not having everything you want....
Sorry don't dis Stevie
I didn't "dis" Stevie- and don't make the mistake of assuming to know what Lori thinks of the matter.

Its not audacious to suggest that there must be a reason why Stevie hasn't stopped the cash yet- after all, these are three people who are largely (if not entirely, indirectly) dependent on her largesse. Its entirely possible that she's talked herself into the thought that encouraging & facilitating the development of Jessica's interests is the best thing to do.

If Stevie was as outraged at these developments as we'd like to think she is, she *could* do something about it. As long as Chris/Jessica/Lori live under Stevie's roofs, they live under her rules- unless she's so worried about losing them and being alone.

What makes you think they live under her roof? The house they lived in was sold. When Jess died I am sure his estate was split between Stevie and Chris so he got some money and maybe for once he is not living off of her. Jessica is no different than a lot of other priviledge children who grow up with too much, too fast and now everyone sees the error of their ways. But not much you can do with a head strong 17 year old. She will find her way. I would imagine Stevie keeps one eye on her but at the end of the day this is not her child. She probably loathes her lifestyle while at same time admires her spirit.

Why not? She sounds so nice and polite . Anyway (I'm talking in general), to say she's doomed at 16 because she has this attitude seems to me nonsense. It's sad though internet has become such a pitiless mirror on her life already.

Wow! I think Jessica is doing great! Most people on this thread are judging Chris and Lori for the way they have raised her, using their schema of life to judge someone else’s child without understanding the world in which that child lives Thank God her parents did not put her on a short leash. I believe the freedom they gave her is what is going to make her extraordinary. Most people in this world are “plain old Joes” who are never going to go anywhere in life. They raise their children to be “plain old Joes”. The people who have 7-figure incomes know exactly what I am talking about. Since the beginning of time, average people always criticize the behavior of the above average. They just don’t understand; they can not even begin to comprehend the intensity of the life and the lifestyle of someone like Jess (or they are jealous of the opportunities she has). So they lash out.

It does not matter where the money came from; she has it and the lifestyle to go along with it. Successful people learn that to come to knowledge you have not; you must go by a way in which you know not. Terms like “crazy”, “dreamer”, “not facing reality”, “not living in the real world” are very common for “common people” to say. These are the same people who feel their “hyper” or “expressive” children should be labeled as ADHD and put on drugs to mellow them out and make them act more “like everyone else”-- sheep.

Jess is not and will not be like everyone else. She has all the opportunity in the world. She will be better and stronger because she is allowed to express herself as she sees fit. She is surrounded by talent and success. She knows what it takes to be great and great she will be. Give her time to figure out her niche.

PS-- I think it is brilliant that she and Chris figured out a way to get hot women to come to the "estate" and pose for them in minimal clothing. Bloody brilliant! Good for them!!!!!

Lurking. I try to "stay out of the affairs of dragons, for I am crunchy and I taste good with ketchup". Although, after so many pages to this thread, I just couldn't stand it anymore. I had to put in my 2-cents in defense of the Nicks family.

So, one can only be extraordinary and live a full life if the have a crap load of money? And if I have a lot of money, I can act in act without regard, and it makes it alright? Don't know about that one.

Ok.. Thank you.. I"m sorry, but having money doesn't make it "ok" to act like a spoiled brat - IMO.. and it never will..
