Default Electric??? What's That?!?!?!

HOLY CRAP! We just FINALLY got power back after 11 days of sitting in the dark! I have never been without power that long! After a huge wind storm LAST Sunday, we had three power polls down, two snapped transformers, and 20 trees down in just my neighborhood! Ohio was under state emergency.
Some people didn't have any water. You'll never know how much you need until you lose it for that long! I feel very sorry for all the people in the hurricane. I was going crazy without power for 11 days, and I can't imagine what it must be like to live where there are hurricanes every year!

We got hit in that same storm. Luckily, however we only were with out power for 24 hours. Some people were with out power for about as long as you. Stores in the area had to throw away THOUSANDS of dollars worth of food. As bad as we thought it was, I still cannot imagine living in the path of the hurricanes. We get one kind-of bad storm every few years, but they get horrible storms more often.

Luckily we had a genorater to plug into the refrigerator and my aquarium. Trying to find batteries and ice was a bitch!
Now that the power is back on, I have no channels on my TV! Sweet!

OMG...so sorry to hear that. I was out of pwr for 8 days in 2004 when those 3 hurricanes hit Orlando. It was awful. Like being in Mad Max or something. Glad you are alright!

Glad you're okay and you've got the juice back! We got smacked by that storm over here in PA, too, but I was lucky to be one of the ones that didn't lose power for an extended period.

Blackouts suck hardcore - when that giant one knocked most of the east coast on its ass a couple of years ago, it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life.

Yeah, no one got hurt. None of our trees hit our house and we didn't lose any either. I can't believe it, considering my street name is Tall Timber Tr!
Although someone down the street from me had a tree go through their sun room.

Jessica, glad you got your power back on!
I know what it's like to be without power for a long time, I
think a couple of times we lost it for over two weeks after
hurricanes. Didn't have running water for those periods of
time.........horrible!!!!

Glad you're ok!

Here are a couple youtube videos of the storm.

The first one is about 5-10 minutes from where I live and the second one is about 45 minutes from me.

Yeah, we lost about 20 trees in my neighborhood. Some people down the street from me had this beautiful tree that was perfectly domed shaped, and it totally uprooted.
