OMG. I am so sorry. That is the one solace in music, that it can help heal horrendous wounds.

TUSK is such a great album it's hard to limit myself to just one fave. If I had to choose just one, I'd have to say SARA. Everything about that song is just so peaceful and ethereal.

I agree about Sara - there is so much going on in that song, I think I hear something new everytime.

Did they perform it on the Tusk tour???

Stevie has said she wrote the song about her relationship with Mick. It's really hard for me to fathom how someone like Mick could inspire some of Stevie's greatest songs.

I think you should listen a little closer. Toward the end at around 5 minutes into the song there's a low rumble which I thought was thunder. I don't believe it's really the recorded sound of thunder, but maybe some studio trick. Maybe it's more pronounced on the vinyl. I know that "I Know I'm Not Wrong" sounds a lot different on the vinyl version.

Anyway, a thunder sound would fit in the song Storms, wouldn't it?

I also hear it. The first time I heard it I had headphones on, so that may help. Also, turn the volume up as the song starts fading out.

Paleshadow and Strand I'm glad you heard it too.

I just listened to it on the various CD's I have and heard the sound on all of them,
except of course the alternate version which appeared on the 2nd CD on the newly
remastered Tusk (2 CD set).

"Storms" is about her trying to deal with herself in a way. Trying to deal with her break up with Lindsey.....

I am very fond of this song because of the words she expresses about herself. I sing this song for my cousin who died 10 years ago next month, and let me tell you, she was the blue calm sea and I deffinatley and even still to this day am a storm. Every word that is sung is sung with such sencerity and pain that Stevie really brings the song to life in a way were you can feel what she's feeling. And she does a great job expressing it. I love the song, and everything it means and stands for. To me that's what the song means. It is about Stevie expressing how she's trying to deal with herself and her break up with Lindsey. Was the song written during their break up? I believe it was.

I can when I listen on my McIntosh speakers, but I do think the devil himself could make her say yes.
