At the show in Clarkston, Michigan this summer, it was Fathers Day and a woman got on the stage to give Stevie a picture of her and Stevie's father together. Security flipped out and took her away or something like that, and Stevie scolded them for that into the mike. I remember her saying something like, "I just don't think that was very cool."

Even though it was a little weird for the woman to jump up onto the stage. She could have just gotten her attention from her seat, I think. It caused quite the stir for a minute there...it was right before Landslide, too. >

When I read fan reviews of those nights when people get on stage, it's always funny to me that Stevie never seems to have that much reaction. She just keeps singing and doesn't seem to register fear.

The world is so crazy now you never know. In the seventies, maybe you had nothing to fear from fans, but it's a different now. It's brave of her to just keep on going unfazed.

Actually, I was reading her lips when she was talking to Lindsey and telling him to sing, because she couldn't do it. Very lovely show altogether, because it really rocked until you got to Don't Stop. Then, despite the uproar, Goodbye Baby was quite touching.

What couldn't she sing?

Anyway, that article is awesome. This reinforces why I love Stevie in the first place. She if very honest and up front and everything. So cool to the people who were at the show in 1989. Anyone here from the show this past year when she was talking about "too high ****ing tech"?

Sometimes, when they come running at her, she probably doesn't see them until the last second when they're grabbing her, what with the stage lights & the noise & "being in the moment" & all.

Any of you all familiar with a video that used to be on youtube from SYW tour. It was beautiful child, and some guys comes up on the stage and puts his arm on Stevie, and then security haul him off stage, and he almost knocks Lindsey down in the process.

Actually, it's still on youtube. Here's the link:

There was a fight in the audience. It happened just before they left the stage following Don't Stop. They exited, but when they returned Stevie was still so upset and tearful after the fracas that she couldn't sing. Even after receiving comforting hugs from Mick and Lindsey, she just couldn't bring herself to go on.

After minutes of her importuning, Lindsey proceeded to sing Goodbye Baby himself. At which point, Stevester realized he had only a faint idea of what the heck the words were. The gesture was very sweet and Lindsey sang movingly, but he had lights floating in towers and glistening streams going every which way -- all of which must have been much more painful for Stevie than the fight in the audience had been.

The poor dear must have been thinking something along the lines of "that *#?! Lindsey. What the **##@?! is he doing??" At which point, she pulled herself together and gamely completed the song.

Wow, that guy was really big and tall. He dwarfed both Lindsey and Stevie. That's intimidating.

Is there some sort of recording of this? I would love to check it out if such a thing exists.

Well, I've never seen a video of the concert, but I know there's an audio boot of Goodbye Baby floating around. Then at the end, Mick gives a little cautionary speech to the crowd.

It was actually a tender show, I thought. Even with bleeding in the audience! I felt warm and happy about it for days, 'cause SnL were really sweet. I was going: aw shucks.

That sounds like it was a hardcore show. Hard to believe that at times and audience can be so unruly. That hasn't happened at any of the shows I've been to, or at least that I've been aware of. If you find either the boot or the video, if you could post it, that would be marvelous!!!
