is it also true that the characters of julia and lily are stevie and robin. I know stevie always uses the name lily

Late on the Wild Heart tour, Stevie checked into hotel rooms under the pseudonym LILIE CHANEL -- see the room list for the Omni when Stevie & her troupe played Tuscaloosa in late October. (Stevie's in Room 1046.)

So right. The vocals are gut wrenching in the first couple verses, especially when you know she's referring to Robin. I've always loved it and wished she'd included it on a CD.
