Thank you. My God, people age. I understand everyone's point of view, however it's absurd to think LB or any of the Mac are going to be as "all that" as they were in the '70s. It sucks but they've aged. I'm glad they are still here regardless....considering the lifestyle, they've aged well, I think. Take Mick for instance, he looks a hell of a lot better now than he did then.

On the droopy eye subject, I wonder if it is a side affect of the dilantin. My dad was on that for a long time and I notice LB has the same mouth "tics" if you will...

Photographer's Lighting or Clairol ---- ?

Only his hairdresser knows for sure.

(Call off the attack dogs. It's only a joke.)
An astute European called my attention to this.

On a personal note--
Yes, my eyes do droop and I am near 60...so the curse has already begun.
I also have a wide ass and I am ugly...I freely admit it. I ain't nothing to look at it.
He is a much better looking person at his age, than I ever will be.

BTW -- Wasn't there a Lindsey, Lindsey, Lindsey thread or Hotness of Lindsey or something? Maybe it can be resurrected and we will shut up.

Well, my view has nothing to do with Lindsey's age or aging. I think he was gorgeous and is gorgeous. I also think he chose a certain "look" for the photo we saw today and for the album cover. It's not just the way he is. He chose a certain look for Go Insane. He wanted to look wacko.

This time around, for whatever reason, he wanted to look woebegone. He doesn't look like that every day. He didn't look like that on the webcam shots Betsy gave us. That photo is an affected look. It's an image. I think it's fine for him to do that, because he's quirky and he always does things that make little sense to his bandmates or to the average Joe. So, I think it's in keeping with his personality to do something strange like that. I also think it's ripe for mocking.

It reminds me of something. When people take "before" and "after" photos, one of the tricks they use is to do many things to make them look awful "before" so that everyone will be amazed by the "after" image. So, if it's a weight product, they don't just show a person who is overweight, they show the "before" person in ugly clothes, a limp hair style, with a dour facial expression and poor posture. They really make them look bad for the "before" posed, so that the product will seem to have worked miracles when "after" is revealed. The person looks great in the "after" photo for reasons that actually have nothing to do with the weight they lost.

Well, those 2 particular photos of Lindsey look like his "before" poses. I just don't know what he's advertising.

The camera isn't even looking at him head on. He's shot from an angle that makes his forehead and eyes look quite different than they normally do.

I really like this picture. I haven't liked all his pictures, and I've also loved many, but this one is pretty cool. I think this shade of blue is a very attractive color for him. I say this as I spot some new candid shots of Bruce Springsteen, who is just 10 days older than LB. They both look incredible for their age, droopy eyes aside. They both could be my father and I say this without shame.

BUT, it looks to me like Linds is messin' about with the hair dye.Very cute. It looks good with the tips, but forgoodnesssakes he better not pull a Macca in the future. I might be horrified...

Thumbs up Looks Bad, But Appropriate

It's been a while since I wrote here, but I had to get in on this.

The Emily Dickinson poem from which the phrase "gift of screws" comes suggests the product of art is the result of hard work. If an artist were hard at work, would he or she not be exhausted and look pretty frazzled? The photos for this album support this--he looks like he's been hard at work!

That's what I thought! I was like, "yay, he's wearing BLUE!" I'm easy to please, I guess. And no matter what, his eyes are always that wonderful color.

I agree with Michele.
It has nothing to do with aging. I didn't see the lines or any drooping and--frankly--don't give a rat's fanny over them. He's nearing 60, he's supposed to have lines. I like that he looks like a REAL guy, as opposed to the plastic Hollywood ones.

But, he's hawking an album. Yeah, I get that he's a tortured, serious artist. But, we get all that in his songs. And all his songs, nowadays, are not even like that. Occasionally, he drops hints that he is (gasp!) happy! So, why sell an album using a picture that looks like he escaped from Riker's Island?

So, yeah. Put out a picture like that, and we have free license, IMO, to pick it apart, on the basis of what's presented in the picture. I don't necessarily think we need to berate his gray hair or whatnot. That is what it is. But the dour expression is a choice.

Exactly! I love the picture. LOVE his new shorter, lighter do! I think Lindsey is trying to portray that he's older, wiser, tireder (is that a word ). Sort of a mad genius. Maybe alittle "screwy", hence the title. As far as doing the nice pose, leather jacket, holding guitar, looking all perfect and all, he's been there, done that. He's just trying to do something different

Eh. Lindsey does what he does.

If he wants to sell something that screams "depressing songs! Within!" that's good. If he wants the average person to make the connection between his work of art, and some long-dead poet's subtext, that's cool.

I still don't like the picture, though;-)

What I don't like is the lense used. It's distorted his image so his head looks extra large, esp the forehead. Maybe he did this on purpose because the cortex is where your thoughts come from and things that make you you, your personality. It also makes his body look small. It's trippy. If it was not a zoomed in picture it would look better.

This pic isn't awful to me. I'm putting it in my "hot old Lindsey" collection along with some of these I found...

Yeah, his forehead is more pronounced. Maybe he's going to give birth to Athena. He loves to talk about the Gods on Mount Olympus.

That forehead reminds me of caricature pictures I've gotten drawn of myself at the fair. They always exaggerate my forehead. The shape of his eyes is distorted as well.
