On the other hand, the whole Landslide thing bores me, the song, the singalong, all of it. So, part of me is resistant. But I really cried during the Sara video with FM. Depending on which side I was sitting on in the audience, I could only see one part of the screen or the other, so every time I saw it, new images from the past were unveiled. I just cried each time. She was actually better on the CV tour. Maybe it is because I saw her on openning night but her vocals were spot on on every note. Even my friend who I have dragged to several of her shows immediatly commented on how strong her vocals were. Dreams had become snack or bathroom break for me but she managed to breath new life into it on that openning night it had a real playfullness to it that is similar to the recorded version. SS is a mixed bag for me. I really think she should switch gears at this point in her career. Get rid of the rock songs and image and concentrate on singing. When she actually sings I think, wow she really can sing and has this amazingly rich deep multilayered instrument. I can so imagine her with just a piana adn a few strings doing all her slow songs. |

They cut it out? I thought she didn't do it. No wonder it looked like she was going over to do it then you don't see her until she pops back up a while later. Well, I'm glad it'll be on the DVD then. |

Can anyone post a screen capture from Soundstage of Stevie's face/head, a good close-up shot to illustrate how fantastic she looks? That would be great.

From the last time I went onto Amazon, it said that the dvd was 14.99 and the cd was like 18.98 or something like that, so it looks like they are sold separately! I hope that helps.. I'll probably get my cd when it comes out, instead of doing the pre-order on that one also.. Hugs, Arlene

i feel the gold dust woman version she sang tonight, should be the definitive version, i thought it was outstanding...i feel her deeper tone and raspier vocals fit that song so much better than what it did say back in 77 to 83. it was just oustanding and incredible

i just feel her vocals in the 70s were very soft, and didn't have the gravily nasily sound to them that they have now...and considering the dark lyrics, i feel a gravily, deep voice better suits the song, than a voice that is airy, soft and very melodic like it was in the seventies...i don't know just my opinion! lol

I just saw the show. I think the first part was better, but the EO17 close was sensational!!
I loved the extra musicians on the song, the way they furiously worked the bows in time to the music added to the excitement. Stevie's frenzied, quickened speech when she returns to the mic and declares, "She said sometime in the middle of the night, I think about you . . . " really quickens the pulse and the "I know what it sounds like" close made me think she should end all the shows just like that. Forget the slow finale. Who needs to be calmed down and soothed? Speaking of the closer, Stevie would probably have had to pay another license fee to use that BATB film clip for television and a third license to use it in dvds. So, if those additional costs contributed to the decision to ditch the song, then thank heaven. I still love the tune, if we're talking audio alone, but between her costume and the film I've wanted to blind myself. Others mentioned the moving camera angles and that did bother me for the first two songs. I don't mind seeing shots of the band and the back up singers once or twice during a song, but when the camera is constantly moving away from Stevie it is hard to get into the words she's singing. I think Sorcerer was harmed a bit, because of this, but I still loved it. Not a fan of the tan boots with the black attire. I thought Circle Dance sounded good, but I don't think we needed both Circle Dance and The One. I can always do without Dreams, but in this case, I would have left Dreams in over The One. You know, we have the official video showing Jess introducing Stevie on stage, so 25 years later, it's only fitting to have an official one with her saying goodbye in this Landslide. Our record is complete. Good show. I can't wait to have both Parts I and II together in one dvd. Michele |

I only saw part2 of Soundstage since I was sick the weekend before for part 1 so I can't comment about that. No offence to anyone. I think (part2) is nice and all but I guess for me I still 'love' the HBO special from BD period (as well as Tusk/Mirage from FMac) ....I know this is the Stevie now and well we all can't turn the clock back so to speak.....I'm sure for this show there was some staging that was done (like Red Rocks ?)....I think she looked beautiful and all loved the Rhiannon top hat and wings.....I loved the boots too. I still love the 70's performaces than this one....sorry.....and some of the early 80's.....I don't like the 'baby, baby' thing at the end of GDW...to me it has no place there really or the tag end to Edge of 17....I didn't think her vocals on Sorcerer were the best......well Vanessa did well on her 2 songs....I do agree that one would've been enough really or the other one could've been with the bonus material. I also didn't like the black gloves she wore through most of it....I don't get it? Is she afraid to show us her hands now?? Strange to me. I just don't like it. To me the best song was Landslide....and I love the family pictures just like at the concert this yr....to me that was the best song of the concert too....even though I am a bit tired of the song itself.....Anyway, hopefully I'll get to see part #1 sometime or just have to wait for the DVD release.....I do think they also showed to much of Waddy and the Edge lead in has always been way to 'long' for my taste really....(same with the Standback lead in as well....not ever liked it period).....though at one time there was a purpose for it (change of clothes) now maybe not so much..she doesn't change stage clothes as much anymore. Anway, no offence anyone. It will be nice to have.....I guess I'll be in the minority here about liking it......IMO anyway....
