My favorites were Crash and How Still My Love. Everyone was saying how bad her version of Crash was and it ended up being a great version.

I disliked this version "I Need To Know." Stevie does that song much better without the "help" of the back up. They slowed the tempo down too much. The Tom Petty DVD- well ALL of her other versions of "I Need To Know" are much better. That song aside, I think it was a great first half.

Throw in "Sara" and I agree with you. HSML was flawless. I absolutely loved everything about that performance. Now I'm highly anticipating the return of the old tophat Rhiannon this week.

Loved the show, visuals were flawless, BUT the "sound reproduction" was horrible. I watched in Chicago on HD and it was awful. It wasn't Stevie's voice, it was the sound. Some have speculated that it was not recorded direct, rather it was done through the PA for benefit of the audience, which would account for a crappy sound. Hope the DVD was/is better??? Glenn |

It's nice to see a few clips from the show to get a taste of it - especially for those that won't get the PBS showing, or haven't had the show air in their area yet, like me... AND CAN'T WAIT! But I'm not sure posting the whole show is benifical to anyone and whether it will undermine the success of the dvd when it goes on sale is probably something that could be debated, but essentially it's the same as posting something that's commercially available.

Oh wow those harmonies in NightBird are just breathtaking, they send a shiver down my spine. Thank you so much for posting all those clips really.
Is that NightBird version part of a DVD - I assume not? It's lovely. I love all the Soundstage I have heard so far, she seems to have her energy back again - briliant. Thanks again. Liza ![]() Quote:

You are welcome! That version of Nightbird is from the television show Solid Gold -- note there is a rickin' version of Standback on that show as well. Also, she performs both songs on Sat. Night Live. youtube should have both versions of both songs and they are WELL worth checking out as she is at the top of her game on all four. |

The more I hear this, the more I like it. I get up early in the morning and play it both on my tv and the stereo system. I listen to it while in the bathroom, taking my shower. It's good to step away from the visual and just focus on the vocal/audio. She sounds fantastic! Given the proper promotion, this Soundstage could bode well for Stevie in a similar way the Dance did for FM. I really think it's on par with that show. And I think quite possibly the best is yet to come on part 2. I mean GDW, Rhiannon, and Edge!!!!!

I definitely think it makes Stevie look very modern and present day and will attract new fans, provided they get the chance to see it. Michele |

That's a good question. I definitely think people who watch Soundstage are more apt to be familiar with Stevie and buy the dvd than those watching MTV. I mean, can she really attract new listeners/fans from an audience who predominantly like rap and artists(I use that word loosely) like Britney Spears? So I think the sales pitch in this day and age would probably be better on a station like PBS as opposed to one like MTV for her. I really couldn't say how popular Soundstage is or what their ratings are. Apparently though she has already overwhelmed PBS with more orders than they could fill. So that's a good indication of her appeal to that audience and the ultimate success this could be.
