I imagine there are still special feelings between them. How could anyone not have some type of feelings for a special love you had in the past? But I do get tired of the game they play, particularly Stevie. When FM aren't touring together she always throws Lindsey under the bus so to speak. I can see why she's jealous of Lindsey, not that she wants him back but maybe she'd like to have what he has now. Lindsey married with children and seemingly happy. And to top it off he had something relevant to release with UTS. I don't belive things she says like that Joe Walsh was the love of her life. I just think it was aimed at Lindsey.

All in all, when the Mac gets back together they'll make up at least when the new tour starts. And passify us fans one more time. I wish they'd get a good producer for the next album. Someone brave enough to stand up to them and let them know what's crap. If the next album and tour is their swansong it needs to stand up to Tusk and Rumours. And I know that's a tall order.

I don't know, but I hope they do! They would be tremendously entertained.

ROFLOL!!

I think her quote was something like, "Our love for Stevie is actually the only thing we have in common..."

I could not agree more, that is how I see it too. Stevie loves to torment Lindsey. Case in point, what this video ' http://youtube.com/watch?v=EHY8_YJs7vE ' Never Going Back Again and he nearly looses it and cries. I submit you all that read this, if you have ever really been in love, and lost that person, you can easily see the agony that he endures.

Lindsey's closer to being served as a honey baked ham (spiked with pineapples) than he is to breaking down and crying there.

Now, I've seen him almost crying before and it was towards the end of the SYW tour when he was doing dedications for his father and brother and, eventually, Cory (though I didn't get to see the last show in Michigan, which is the pits, since I'm from Michigan). Then, he'd get all choked up and Stevie would be looking at him so intently. So touching.

The only song on UTS that I think is directly related to Stevie is Try For The Sun:

We huddled in the derelict building
The gypsy girl and I
We made our beds together
With the rain and tears in our eyes
And who will be the one
To say it was no good what we done
I dare anyone dare anyone to say we
were too young
We were only trying for the sun

I think in the song, Lindsey is talking about when he and Stevie did the BuckinghamNicks record, how people told them they would never get anywhere in the music business and they were never going to make it after the failure of that record...but the song talks more about their struggles to become artists than about love, and as far as i can see, it's the only song on UTS that talks about Stevie.

I believe that he has, in a round about way, all but stated Under the Skin is about/for Stevie...

I see the parallel. In fact, you could even say the "derelict building" was the coffee plant, but Lindsey didn't write Try for the Sun. It's a cover.

I won't say I wasn't hysterical when I got the actual lyrics after having only heard CAD and SYH. When I heard the songs I thought he said "magic wand" and then I found out he said "magic one". For SYH I thought he said "the shadows they will stand in linger," but he really said "shadow singer." So, I was . . . slightly faint, for a few days. There was a severe case of swoonage.

Yes, Under the Skin is about Stevie. I think that he still has deep feelings for Stevie and that will never change.

Lindsey didn't write Try For The Sun. Donovan did. It's a cover.
Shut Us Down was written by Cory Sniper with musical additions and a few lyric changes by Lindsey.
Before anyone claims I Am Waiting is Lindsey writing about Stevie, that's another cover, The Rolling Stones wrote that.

Does no one actually own this album? It says it all in the booklet.

I do think Lindsey has written plenty of songs about Stevie in the past but his new album is so blatantly about his new life as a father and husband. And to say Not Too Late is anything other than Lindsey talking about how the need for critical validation consumed him over the years but having kids has given him peace and perspective, is bat**** crazy.

But I will say the shipper talk is entertaining at the very least.

Reading the paper saw a review
Said I was a visionary, but nobody knew
Now that's been a problem
feeling unseen
Just like I'm living somebody's dream

What am I doing anyway
Telling myself it's not too late

I'm not a young man but I'm a child in
my soul
I feel there's room for songs that
are sung
For chances not taken for deeds not
yet done

What am I doing anyway
Telling myself it's not too late

My children look away they don't know
what to say
My children look away they don't know
what to say

So that's been a problem
feeling unheard
So called visions always deferred
It must be the reason I developed
this need
You know you should never believe
what you read

What am I doing anyway
Telling myself it's not too late

My children look away they don't know
what to say
My children look away they don't know
what to say
I think you are just seeing what you want to see

Donovan's version had a gypsy boy... Lindsey did a nice rework of the lyrics and I think it's obvious he's referring to Stevie there. I like how he changed the original's "Mirror, mirror hanging in the sky" line to "Mirror, mirror in the sky" - matches the line in "Landslide"... Nice nod, imo.

But everybody knows at least TWO gypsy girls in his life.

And if Lindsey were a ledgie, he could be talking about at least forty-five girls/women, all with the screen name "gypsy-this" or "gypsy-that."
