Oh, I second that! I was so busy lost in the thoughts it inspired that I forgot to say thanks so much for posting. It's definitely a kind of Stevie interview that I thought had become almost extinct.

I loved it too Michele.. Stevie is SO predictable in SO many ways.. It's always fun to read her new articles, and how she contradicts herself, with saying just the totally opposite thing, in a prior interview, years before..

I used to love reading these Stevie scorchers, too! After years of contraditcions and spinning the drama too and fro...these days her interviews sound pathetic. This one is such a crock. It used to make me laugh when interivews like this were attributed to her. At the ripe age of 60 it seems disgraceful that Stevie is allowoing herself to sound like a bitter concieted old b*tch. Unless this one really is an April Fools joke? Only a fool would buy what this interview is selling.

Arlene, I love your sig!!!!!

I usually love Stevie interviews as well, because she's quite blunt and funny with much of what she says. But it almost seems that lately she's been on attack-mode towards Lindsey and I don't much care for it. Granted, he's not an angel and can certainly be a self-righteous brat many a time, but I've never read/heard him say anything truly demeaning towards Stevie- or atleast nothing to the degree that she has of him.

I don't know what to make of her with stuff like this...still love her in general, just not the attitude as of late.

In some places, like "flamingly fantastic review" it doesn't exactly sound like Stevie. Michele

Wow major progress on that new album ..she is pretty much where she was at the end of the SYW tour nearly 4 years ago...writing some poems and getting them ready for the piano.

I routinely look for the tip-off description at the begining of these flaming interviews. Some line where the writer implies Stevie is there in person.... "she hands me a piece of paper" or "she floated into the room wearing draping chiffon." Doesn't that type of opening convince you she actually gave the interivew? LOL! That always cracks me up!

As opposed to the bitter young b*tch she sounded like 30 years ago...?but I love her anyway ..hmmm I also love Joan Crawford .Queen Elizabeth the 1st ,Eva Duarte Peron and my old RN supervisor who made Nurse Ratched seem like Mother Theresa.

One myth you've denied, but is still all over the internet, is that, because of the damage to your nose, you were given cocaine enemas.

OMG, I actually winced when I read this. I was like "OMG, you asked Stevie what?" That interviewer had a lot of guts to ask Stevie that. I would be afraid she would kill me right there with her stare. If this was a real interview, I can only imagine the awkward moment that would have been.

"flamingly fantastic"???
Sounds like the review was so horrible that it invigorated her?

So, it's still Lindsey that ruined the 'Say You Will' tour for her? It was a bizarre thing, at the 2 Worcester, Mass shows on the first leg, when she absolutely wouldn't look at anyone in the audience with floor seats ( i was third row first night, 10th row second night) while Lindsey was overly gregarious and Stevie deliberately only played to the nosebleeds, making huge waving movements with her arms to the balconies...I'd never seen her so indifferent (and rude, actually) to fans who worked the minor miracles involved to get up close.
But what was Lindsey gonna do if she acknowledge the up-close fans, throw his LesPaul at her? So strange.
On the last leg of 'Say You Will' (the 3rd leg, or the 4th?) she was way more like her fan-friendly self... right after she did her first spin of the night on 'the chain' and i cheered (perhaps too enthusiastically?) i even got a very warm, shy, but sincere smile from her and it felt great.(akin to 'she's not mad at her fans anymore, I'm glad I came!')
Yet, midway between those shows, at the Harbor Arena in Bridgeport, CT; Lindsey (as he did at many shows, i was told) threw a sweaty t-shirt into the crowd, but did it with extra gusto like he was trying to pop someone specifically (and Stevie said to him "Nice try" when he missed)-- So it seemed to me that time too that Stevie wasn't happy with some of the regular fans showing up... I just don't get it, really. Mick even encouraged audience support for Lindsey trying to get a cpl fans who weren't on their feet at the conclusion of 'Come' to stand up for Lindsey, like "if you knew how important this is..." My final vivid memory (Hartford show) was when Mick was doing all of the band introductions, how Lindsey had his head bowed and appeared to be meditating/monitoring how LOUD everyone's applause was, and the genuine, relieved PLEASURE and grateful response to the audience when his ovation was HUGE- he was so happy!
So, it does seem possible to me that Lindsey is still very, very sensitive about Stevie getting a lot of attention, even now, and that's what she refers to in articles such as this one??
But, really, shouldn't Lindsey have been over this by say, 1982? And especially, by the time of the SYW tour, his professional reputation seemed, honestly, more revered by media critics than Stevie's, who still got slings and arrows. You think they'd support each other and be grateful that after 30+years they can still draw thousands of people- i think all this largely was what made Christine want to pack it up, really, back in 1997-- ''enough with the Lindsey-Stevie soap opera already, it's unhealthy"

Bwahahahaha. Thank you, Sharon. I can start of my day with a smile on my face after reading this nonsense.

Blah the blah the blah blah blah. Now he wasn't very nice. What happened to all the comments about how in awe he was and how sweet the entire process was? Now he's back to being the Ayatollah and she the hostage in Iran?

You know, I was thinking about it a couple of days ago, Lindsey is probably the man who loved me the most in my life. So when I die I will remember that: that of all the men in my life Lindsey, absolutely, bar none, was the man who loved me the most.
Interesting. I don't think she's ever said this before. And it's probably the truth.

(about joining Fleetwood Mac)
You were more keen than Lindsey?
I think, in Lindsey's heart, he thinks if we hadn't joined Fleetwood Mac, we would still have become famous, and we probably would have gotten married and probably would have had kids and probably would have lived in San Francisco, his hometown, and our lives would have been very different and we probably would have never done drugs. It's possible.
It's comments like these that make me hope Michele was kidding with her 'brother' theory.

Thanks for sharing this article...I loved it! I had gone to borders to buy the mag, but the new one was already out ; (

I, for one, am happy that Stevie has finally claimed her rightful role...no disrespect to Lindsey or any other band member...THEY ARE ALL GREAT, and I love them all (musically) as a band, and individually, but right or wrong, Stevie has been the face of FM FOR THE MASSES, since she joined. It's no secret that as a solo artist, she has been the most successful, and with Lindsey's undeniable brilliance as a picker and a singer, that has had to smart his (not inconsiderable) ego over the years ... and it's also obvious (to me anyway) that Stevie purposely tried (unsuccessfully, imho) not to shine on the SYW tour (the drab dress, few if any shawls... acting like just one more member of the band) ...

anyway, loved the article...and looking forward to 'The Soldier's Angel' (no cynisim here...) and anything else She/They decide to do!

and as to the butt story..
