Default George Michael Announced a Summer Tour

Anyone excited? I am, although the ticket prices that are listed for the only show that's up on Ticketmaster are HIGH! $50 - $175!!! $175 is a little high IMO for a guy who's trying to make a come-back in the states. I guess he's been touring Europe for the past couple years and selling out multiple large venues though.

I've always liked him and I plan to see him when his tour starts June 17th in San Diego. Hopefully the SD show will be a little cheaper, or maybe the $175 is incorrect on TM. It wouldn't be the first time TM made a mistake. I have noticed that concert prices everywhere have gone up a little though.

My advice is GO! I saw him twice in the last year or two in Dublin and he seriously puts on the best live show I've ever been to -- he's not my favourite artist, probably not even the top five, but in terms of a concert I haven't seen anyone else that comes close. It's just flat out energy for two hours plus, I can't tell you how cool it is!
The tickets were dear over here too, but seriously, get them, you won't be disappointed!

No, I can't say that I'm excited. I used to listen to his music when I was younger, & I thought he was really talented. But now all this stuff has come out about him, yeah, the bathroom stuff it's just a complete turn off for me. (I don't think my husband would want to see him either.) And I don't have anything against being gay, but you should just keep that stuff private. I mean, you don't hear anything about Elton John doing that sort of stuff. I really love Elton. Loved him since the 70s. Love his music & don't care that he is gay. I know he's had some drug problems, etc., but he's work through it, has his charity work, so the good outweighs the bad now. And I wouldn't pay $175 a ticket though, not even for Sir Elton.

I'm liked GM/Wham!, there were a few good pop songs in there- definately brings back a 'time and place' in my life. I'm remembering lots of neon, then when GM went solo the leather jacket 'butch' look. I liked:

'Careless Whisper'
'Freedom'
'I'm Your Man'

and solo:
'I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)
'Monkey'
'Praying For Time'
'Freedom '90'
'Too Funky'

LOL! Reallly!

Man, when that happened my brothers (who ALWAYS teased me for liking George) were on the phone to me so fast! "Jamie- what's up with your boy showing his thingy to a cop in a restroom?!!" God, I was so embarrassed. It was unbelievable.

Anyway, the tickets haven't gone onsale yet, so I'm still deciding. That $175 kinda pisses me off though, the more I think about it. His people must REALLY think that he will be fully embraced here to charge that. I saw him live twice before, back in the day and he was good. Thanks, Sahara, for the updated info that he still puts on a great show.

Wasn't Careless Whisper his first solo song?

One More Try is one of my fave George songs

I think so. CW is from the Wham days, but I remember it was presented on radios as a solo song.

and yes OMT is a cool song

K- Ready for this BS?

On TM, you can buy a "Hot Seat Package" ticket for $379 Each!!! They give you a row 12 seat, a t-shirt, and a "media wrist band". Can you f-ing believe that??? The balls on this guy (or his management) must be HUGE!! I'm definitely turned off now. I'm not going. I'd be amazed if ANYONE pays that. Insane.
