^^^

With Crow in the mix, FMis much more marketable So, I am unsure why he would not latch onto that.

Also, Radiohead is not the level of stardom that LB has with FM, which he could use to get the bookings and press. If he were smart, he could market this as what is left for people of his stature to do and still be an artist. IMO, it is his only real shot at having any kind of palatable sales - though one never knows about hits, etc.

^^

Once again, even though no one said it, people run to assume that Crow will be there solely to take the place of Christine. To my knowledge, no member of the band said that and neither did Crow. What they all did say and imply is that Crow will sing along to the band's hits (not nec. CM's vocal solo stuff) and that new music would result. How that translated into Crow replacing Christine or Crow being there to sing Christine's songs like Everywhere during the concert is beyond me.

I don't think Sheryl is silly enough to believe that she would be replacing Christine ..she has her own idenity and long career but I do believe she could bring something to the band that was missing on SYW..that third voice and songwriting and I would hope some of the cohesiveness that Christine brought that some of us didn't even realize until it was gone. The chemistry that the 5 of them had could never be replicated ,in fact after the 1970s were over the 5 of them could only replicate it themselves in sporadic flashes .

Although I really really really do believe that Timbaland would be the very best producer for a Lindsey/Stevie Fleetwood Mac album (Timba says he wants to do rock... then he should work with the greatest "american" rock band of all time).

Since that won't happen because it's too good to be true, Here's a RADICAL idea that really ought to happen. The producers should be: Dan Perfect and Ken Caillat and Fleetwood Mac.

With the olive branch offered via Dan Perfect, who would be a good and appropriate choice anyway, maybe Christine could come back, and all this Sheryl Crow nonsense could end. I mean really, would Christine take away such an opportunity from Dan? (I'm no expert, but just a hunch).

Christine most likely would have participated fully in the SYW sessions as a band member..she just refused to tour as I believe with all certainty she still would..It was Mick's unfailing greed that ruined her participation and the album that might have been.

I am unsure about that. I think the recording would have had to have happened in Kent. I do not see FM going there for a year no matter how good her food is I think she wanted out and out she was. I hold no ill will and miss her. But, I do not long to have her back if she does not want to come. Rather, I look forward to a new incarnation which, to me, sounds full of intrigue. That is why I do not get all of the Crow = CM light. FM will be a comnpletely different entity.

Obviously Lindsey didn't appreciate the fact the rumour about Crow negotiating a possible collaboration with FM came out this way, but it had to, as I'm sure on Stevie's side everyone knows very well. It had to be big and loud.

About Lindsey not producing the album, I'm jubilating. Not because he's not a great producer, but obviously he's lost the chemistry with Stevie in recording room along the way, and she's rightly asking to have more power also there. I've never understood why to be in FM for her must become everytime a "Repent!" time.
Other Ledgies have suggested great producers, I'd like to add (sorry if they've already been mentioned) Jon Brion and Jack White.

I'm glad Lindsey has tons of material, I just hope it's something more universal than the familiar bliss washed with mineral water published on Under the skin.

About Lindsey searching another label for his solo album, I think it's a shame. He made tons of money for Warner and they, to thank him, don't support him for his solo work, but want him back for FM... Greedy idiots.

Regarding the comments about Stevie's and Lindsey's voices, I agree they both sound strained but while I really can't stand Lindsey's voice alone for more than three songs, Stevie's voice alone, as one italian critic wrote about SYW, is like burnt sugar, a storyteller's fascinating and involving instrument.

But, when they focus - they shine brighter than the sun, to wit:

Could she be more beautiful or feminine there - Could they be more in love, even for just the 4:00?

As for her voice -- I think she shines brightly here

And - on Circle Dance, her voice is fluid and IMO not strained - it is, however, deliciously aged:

But - hardly is what is seen here:

or here

effortless and stunning.

I love her voice during the Bella Donna era it was at it's peak IMHO even if she had lost a bit of it's higher register by then it was more full and rich..inexplicably a couple years after this she took up smoking cigarettes and you can hear the difference clearly by The Wild Heart.
