Default Stevie VS Fleetwood mac

Ok if you were stuck on an island and could only have:

A: One CD with all Stevies Songs from FM

OR

B: An equal number of Stevie Solo songs

Which will it be?

I say FM songs all the way. It is my humble opinion that her solo songs ( with a few exceptions) are secondary in quality.

This is a toughie. I think I'd take the Stevie set, if only because there is more of it. But, I'd be fully expecting that for my desert island eternity, there would be ALL the unreleased completed tracks, ALL the b-sides, ALL the demos no matter how incomplete etc. If I can't have that, then just leave me under the palm tree.

I absolutely agree with you on this one!. Although I do enjoy her solo work, in my opinion her Fleetwood Mac material is better.

One CD with all Stevies Songs from FM is what I would choose.

They just seem more intense and powerful, but was a hard choice

I'd have to pick Stevie's solo songs - because there are more.. and she doesn't hold back on her solo stuff. I feel like Lindsay also held her back vocally.. At the end of many FM songs when her vocals become really powerful, the song fades to end.

And don't forget

Edge Of Seventeen
Leather And Lace
Stop Draggin' My Heart Around
How Still My Love
Stand Back
Rooms On Fire
Planets Of The Universe
Sorcerer
Blue Denim

!

but then... it really is tough.. :/ :\ :/ :\ :|

This is tough when I think about songs like Blue Lamp, Rock A Little, Outside the Rain, How Still My Love and Beauty and the Beast. But I gotta pick her FM songs. These songs introduced me to Stevie and I hold them dear.

Storms
Sisters Of the Moon
Dreams
Gypsy
Destiny Rules
Rhiannon
Sara
Thrown Down
Gold Dust Woman
Silver Springs
Beautiful Child etc....some of her best material.

Definitely Fleetwood Mac songs! The artistry that went into her FM songs is apparent when listening to her solo albums... which seem almost mass produced.

I would vote solo... I just can't imagine a world without the songs "Julia," "Bella Donna," "Edge of Seventeen," "Sleeping Angel," and "Battle of the Dragon." Sure, I liked the harmonies on the FM songs better, but there is a certain 'dramatic flair' that is largely missing from them. I think her solo work tends to be more emotional, more passionate...
