![]() I do see any new female joining FM as a replacement for Christine and I have said I am still in denial about her leaving in the first place! I know FM has always changed members it's just that since I became a fan in 1973 Mick, John and Christine have always been there. To me, rightly or wrongly, this would be like getting a new bass player or drummer. Like I said - the problem is all inside my head Gail |

well, I would just rather have the 4 peice band that was on SYW than have anybody besdies Christine.
But since they dont want to do that, heres a thought- how about the 4 of them pack it up, and record one...just ONE album with Christine, and dont tour? Id rather a new album anyways ![]() Nobody fits the mac mold except Christine. Well...Bob Welch could work, but I doubt hed want to come back |

So while you're at it, I'm sure Charo would love to interpret "Landslide" and could put a nice new twist on the "Rhiannon" dance. ![]() - Jake

Would Christine be willing to live in the USA for a year (to record a new album) but not tour? Didn't Stevie say something on Destiny Rules -- something about what if Chris did do that (record) but didn't tour ..... and her songs became the hits? Also...I read/heard that Chris moved back to England because the Earthquakes scared her??? I, too, would like to see a MAC with Bob Welch again. Last edited by Betsy; 03-16-2008 at 06:31 PM.. |

i'll get flamed, but i would like to see colbie caillat be the replacement for fm.
i think she could do the chris songs and would blend well with stevie and lindsey. plus...she's and up and coming artist (everyone was bitching in the other thread that sheryl was already a star and they wanted someone who hadn't made it big) and she's ken caillat's daughter to boot! |

I actually wouldnt mind seeing Colbie 'fill in' for Christine. Im sure she already knows the members of the band...her father being Ken and all. And she has said that FM is an influence, and she would probably love to play with them. I think i would like her voice on YMLF...which is the Christine test for me...so yeah Colbie Callait would be good. Plus she could throw in a couple of her songs as well...esp 'Bubbly'... ![]() |

I think the Earthquakes were only one of the reasons she left to come home. Her marriage had just broken up, she was fed up with the rock 'n roll lifestyle and I think she wanted to spend some more time with her brother. She's pretty much retired now. If the collective will exists for the Rumours lineup to make some more music together then they will find a way. I just don't believe that the will exists. So if Stevie needs a female friend along to make the tour happen then it looks like Sheryl Crow is it. I'm not sure there'll be room onstage though. 5 band members, 2 backing singers, 3 extra musicians, 1 extra percussionist and Lindsey's testosterone ![]() Gail |

The band has an odd history of freaking out about earthquakes. Didn't they freak out about the 1971 Sylmar quake after arriving in Los Angeles? Stevie has mentioned being afraid of earthquakes a lot, & Mick has talked about it, too. Didn't he say at one point that he was moving to Hawaii partly because he was afraid of quakes? I laughed when I heard that: Hawaii is highly seismic.
