Default Clickables

In our ongoing, underfunded No Ledgie Left Behind Program (N.L.L.B.P.), here are some clickables of that Hit Parader article with blurry photos of the band in Japan on the Tusk tour. You can see the photos of Chris with her arm in a cast, & Stevie & Lindsey in their fur coats, traveling.

Here's Mick during the recording of Mirage at Lindsey's home studio, The Slope. Those of you who don't believe Mick's state didn't play a role in Lindsey's screaming run from the band that summer are nuts.

Circus Magazine 1980

Etc., including one shot of Stevie & Chris at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium 1975:

The filename says "9-15-82 WorcesterAirport"....I think the b&w pic with Christine is from '75.

Lol.

Also, that photo of Mick will give me nightmares for the rest of this week AND the next!

Thanks David, I really like old scans, if you have more I would love to see them.

David, do you have this Hit Parader issue? If you do, what is the date of this particular issue?

Thanks for posting!

Way cool, David!!! Talk about a blast from the past. I had both these issues back in The Day. I still probably have them somewhere but thanks for posting!

It's so funny that the picture explains to us that Lindsey is enjoying a "new" Sony product: the Walkman. That Lindsey was on the cutting edge. I just hope he knows how to work an Ipod today and doesn't have to ask his son for help.

All I have is the scan. I don't remember the date, but it was 1980 between March (obviously) & August, before the end of the tour.

Remember how we used to buy several issues of a magazine like this so we could cut it all up for our scrapbooks? If there were photos on opposite sides of a single leaf, you needed two copies.

Yes, I remember. I did the same thing.

I've wanted to find that Hit Parader for awhile now, because of the picture with Chris' wrist in a cast.

Dear God. They are all lucky to still be alive. Wasn't The Slope used for Tango and the Honky Chateau for Mirage?

The band got another cover story in Hit Parader in April 1981.

Did you go to this concert? I did!

Remember seeing this on TV?

The Circus Magazine article is pretty interesting, and mentions quite a bit about the band's distant past. Danny Kirwan, Greenie, Dinky Dawson, playing at the Filmore for more than 6 hours...

Cool.

I enjoyed reading the Hit Parader and Circus. The articles were interesting. So I never knew....Stevie was held hostage in Iran??? And Lindsey was the Ayatollah.... Must have been some party, that making of Tusk.

I also found it comical to read about how Stevie was voted out for the cover and stated she would NOT be wearing THAT as a T-shirt....and Mick says "I thought it was a lovely cover..." Family bickering - makes for some good, clean, entertainment.

Thanks David for taking the time to dust off the old library shelves and for scanning and sharing them with us.

BTW --- the photo of Mick looks like he weighs in at "heavy weight" and is ready to sumo wrestle someone.

I echo the sentiment of --- Got any more magazines or cut up scrapbooks to share?
