Default The Brits

Well we were really enjoying the Brits last night (Mika, Rhianna, Kylie, even the Kaiser chiefs were fab) UNTIL...yes, it started to descend into chaos following Sharon Osbourne's swearing outburst!! Kelly and Jack were good (in fact the 2 of them by themselves were great)..hope they give them another go sometime...but oh dear Mum...what happened? Then we ended up with those highly stupid Arctic Mionkeys winning the top slots and well that was the beginning of the end for us.
Very pleased for Take That, Kate Nash and Kylie, but who or rather what is the "Brit school"? I'm confused ..is it a place? Or just another name for turning out Britains loony latest batch of musical talent?
Amy Winehouse was interesting, and who is this Mark Ronson bloke?
Anyone else see it? Any thoughts?

I watched. I thought Kylie was great.. and it was cute that David Tennant gave her an award. Not sure what all the fuss was about with the Ractic Monkeys. And what started the outburst at the end? I know Vic Reeves was on but I'd drifted away from watching it by then. Amy Winehouse? I love her but she was weird I though

And I didn't rate Paul McCartney much at the end.

I loved Rihanna with The Klaxons.

but, jesus, I'm getting so sick of Leona Lewis and that freaking Bleeding Love song. I used to love it, but lord. plus, the fact that each and every performance of it is, essentially, the same.every.time.

hey Pip, glad you watched it too..guess wer'e the only ones on here who did!!
anyway...what started the swearing ("bloody bastard" and other words to that effect) were aimed at Vic Reeves (can I just say what an awful lot of odd presenters there were....) and she added they had to hurry up as they were running out of time, the swearing seemed to get worse, poor Kelly looked highly embarressed and the Artic Monkeys were totally drunk to the point of not being able to give any sort of decent thankyou speech (the tv people had to cut it off!! haha) so in the end, it finished in a bit of a mess.Pity as it started so well..the singing by Mika, Rhianna and Kylie and Leona was fun, good special effects ......oh well, the Brits have always been a bit weird and disfunctional and this was no exception
Amy Winehouse sang rather well, but I'm not sure what her stage act was to be honest, she looked like a little girl lost, maybe it's part of the show, I don't know enough about her to say.
I agree about Paul McCartney too, actually I think it was a bit poor timing having him on (as his divorce case is being heard right now) it could almost be seen like a publicity stunt to win the publics favour ( but I don't want to take away the fact he was there to recieve a lifetime achievement award apparantly...however, I think I missed it, coz I never saw it).
None the less, it was a bit more interesting than most Weds night tv viewing.

It has been overplayed a lot here too actually, but having said that it's her first decent single. Her performance of it, well, she got lots to learn, she'll get there in the end. Not bad for a secretary in some dingy old office somewhere a year or so ago...good luck to her, she seems like a nice ordinary down to earth kinda girl, certainly no diva.

I actually liked the Arctic Monkeys' last CD - it was better than the debut, IMO.

Amy's performance was weird to me, as well. And not my favorite vocal from her. Love that song, though. I think she was high...and no surprise there, right?

Kelly & Jack looked great and did a good job.
