I don't know why they call this the "wong" collection. It has some pretty good stuff in it.

Judy Wong died a few years ago, & someone who had access to her private photos has been selling off many of them on eBay for the past year.

It's weird because we've been staring at Polaroids in the tourbooks for many years, with the credits saying "Judy Wong," & now we're seeing a lot of the original Polaroids up for sale!

Doesn't the 2nd one look likes its hand tinted (I lightened it up a bit)? Alot of them have that look. Very cool!!! Thanks for the heads up.

These rock SO hard...but I wonder if some aren't fake. Being as some look so legit, I find that hard to belive, but I wonder if they aren't just poloroids of this person's collection. Because you can NOT hand tint a pol. I'm pretty sure they didn't even have b&w pol film, and even if they did, they wouldn't have had this aged look to them. No, I think they are pics of aged and/or hand tinted pics. This seller has a great feed back rating, and there is nothing to gain by faking the pics, but still I wonder.

( Even still, I'd die to have just about any of them. Well, cept the one where SN has her hand to her mouth. I swear that's not even her. But one is so vivd in color, and I'd say it's late 80's early 90's, and it's hardly aged a day. That one has been perserved real well. The one that has SN and you can see the camera in it as well, that's just like out of the Enchanted booklet. Weird. And really, damnit it all to hell...MORE sessions of SN that you have to wonder where the hell all the rest of the pics are?!?!!??! I'm just jealous that's all. Someone has em' and I don't!

Those polaroids are gorgeous, but some of those are very obviously from the RAL era and not early 90's as the description mentions.
These are very similair to the RAL "mirror" pictures that Stevie took of herself:

So maybe those polaroids are selfportraits too?

Anita, you have a good point. These two are the same picture, just different "crops", and definitely tinted. It looks like a pick was taken of the original at two different angles to give it the look of two different photos. I'm not accusing the seller of doing that, I'm sure that's how they got them from Judy Wong or whomever. Very cool though.

Everyone has vaild points and something doesn't seem right with some of these pics. After looking at them again today i remembered that one of the pics looked the same as one in the enchanted booklet so i checked and it is the same picture only in negative.

As for some of the Polaroids looking hand tinted like Anita said, maybe after hand tinting a original photo that Stevie or someone would take a Polaroid of it.

This pic here looks like a picture of a picture from the uneven lines at the bottom.

^ I think it's odd too. Most of the pics are great (love the one above!) but have we seen any polaroids from the Wong collection yet? I thought they'd all been actual printed photos. Not that they can't exist, but it's just surprising. And I was under the impression that 1 person bought all the Wong goodies - is this not the case?

Oh, and I agree that some are definitely RAL era. For sure.

Stevie's channelling Courtney Love in these pics. Hard to pinpoint them to an era, I want to say RAL- but the big cross wasn't being worn then, was it? I thought the 'proclaiming Jesus' period (according to Bill Gamelson) was around the post-SA/pre 'Dance' period when she was performing at county fairs and such.

I guess you could handtint a Polaroid, if you sent said Polaroid to a lab and they made matte prints out of them. Or, if they made permenant markers back then in a wide range of colors. Gawd, I can't even be in the same room if someone is using one of those. Pheww.
