Still EXCITED!
I'm still bitter than didnt make a DVD of the latter half of the SYW tour...when they were doing I Know I'm Not Wrong, and Sara!

I'm personally excited, an official live Solo Performance on dvd and cd just in time for Christmas 2008...as a Stevie fan, I will purchase...I'm not too worried though, Stevie always throws a little something extra in even though this is a Soundstage production...

didn't some people say that "Crash" didn't come off to well at the Sounstage performance? She's probably just re-recording that and maybe a few others.

You know it's funny, having met a few different members of Fleetwood Mac over the years, people have asked me about Stevie. And I say so I havent ever met her, and in a way I like that. I would never turn down the opportunity certainly, but that distance is a bit more fascinating to me I guess.

I wonder why she never released a DVD (or VHS) of her Storytellers from 1998. That was a popular show with her fans. They all seemed to love it. It had some strong material on it (Edge of Seventeen, After the Glitter Fades, Dreams), performances were good, &c.

They should have released a special-edition DVD of it available through the Web channels, like her dudfficial Web site. Chris could have designed the box.

oo yeah, that storytellers was really good. I particularly liked the has anyone ever written anything for you on that one. It was cool with all the little lites coming down, and the big drippy candles. After the Glider fades was nice too, and she looked pretty in the red dress. Didn't vh1 start releasing afew of those, and then stop?

Just as long as she is not filming "close-ups" for editing. That is the one thing that always bugged me about Red Rocks and the Tango live releases. Its not natural

Yes, I have the Natalie Merchant and Sarah McLachlan ones. I seem to remember at some point a rumor this was being released and it showing up on amazon with a cover similar to the format of the other ones, but it may have been fan created Well, anyhow, obviously it never happened

Her vocals were also almost completely redone for those as well. If you listen to a raw recording of the Red Rocks show and compare it to the released version, it's like two totally different shows.

I think she redid her vocals for Stand Back & Leather & Lace for the radio broadcast of the Oakland 10.04.83 segments. The real Stand Back vocal would have been virtually unrecognizable as Stand Back to most little boys & girls.

Yes, there have been several interesting threads over the years about what kind of technical enhancing they did to Stevie's vocals on the finished Red Rocks release. I'm afraid I'll need to get a few slaps with a wet noodle though, because I actually have never heard the 'raw' version of the Red Rocks performance that was eventually doctored up and released.

It makes sense that the TITN vid also had some vocal fiddling, because her voice sounds much...different on the video than what I remember from the 2 live nights I caught in '87. That whole video annoys me anyway. I hate when they film through a fuzzy/gauzy lens and use all that slo-mo. It's like they were purposely trying to make Stevie look laconic. I can picture the director of the re-takes "Ok Stevie, now look into the camera...keep looking...ok now pout! Good, slowly..slowly turn your head away keep pouting look from the corner of your eye, good! Cut! Ok Charlie, we'll print that one, but slow it down by 3/4 speed and add lots of fuzz."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hey, does anyone have this radio broadcast of the Oakland 10-4-83 and the "raw" Red Rocks" show they could post? I would really appreciate it, Thanks

I haven't heard anything, but I guess that makes sense with the April concert dates popping up. I would expect though the DVD would get released later in the year. Kind of seems too soon to release it to retail when there is no air date yet on Sound Stage. But who knows.
