Stevie Nicks is in Nashville recording an album with Joe Thomas for a CD that accompanies a DVD of Soundstage, which airs on PBS. Joe directs the show.
From Stevie-Nicks.info. An accompanying CD would be awesome!! I guess the information was in a Nashville newspaper. ![]()

lots of negativity. I suspect it will be something like FM did with Live in Boston. We will get some live tracks that may/may not be on the DVD. I would like to have the tracks that dont make it to the DVD or maybe at least one new song?

THats some cool news! I want it to sound crisp and clear,w overdubs. Like The Dance, or Live in Boston. Im soooooo tired of freekin bootlegs, and even then, i dont have all that many of those. but there not the same as a nice profesional recording. I want this soundstage to be as good as possible!-Please dont be put off by the negativity. some people are NEGATIVE 95% of the time. AND As far as live tracks I WILL LOVE having a version of "if annyone falls","How still my love", "Crash", "Circle Dance", ect. Those are HARDLY the "same old live tracks". It wll be wonderful having them. YES. ![]() ![]() ![]() THX 4 SHARING THE NEWS!!

Thank you for the info. I am looking forward to a Soundstage release and any thing new would be great.
As for the negativity..you can certainly count on that from certain people around here. It's sadly now a given. |

The post says she is "in Nashville recording an album with Joe Thomas for a CD that accompanies a DVD of Soundstage." It does not say or imply that the CD is a rip of songs from the Soundstage. I took it to mean she is recording new songs. Is there something I missed?

A new CD would be great, but I have a sinking feeling that we're going to get a ten track "sampling" of songs that have been around for several tours.
My prediction, if I may: 1. Stand Back 2. OTR/Dreams 3. Rhiannon 4. Landslide 5. GDW 6. Circle Dance 7. FFG 8. Edge 9. R&R 10. BATB |

Grammy Awards could be victim of writers strike
Grammy Awards could be victim of writers strike By BEVERLY KEEL • January 17, 2008 The Writers Guild of America's strike that essentially shut down the Golden Globe Awards now threatens to disrupt the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on Feb. 10, so the Recording Academy and two unions are working to save music's biggest awards show. On Tuesday, the American Federation of Musicians and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists issued a joint statement in support of the Grammys. It said they are encouraged by news that the WGA has signed an interim agreement allowing The 39th NAACP Image Awards to be telecast as scheduled. The Grammys' producers and AFM reps have requested the writers guild sign a similar agreement with the music awards show. Nashville Association of Musicians President Harold Bradley, who serves on the American Federation of Musicians' international executive board, said the union hopes to reach an agreement similar to the one between the WGA and David Letterman's production company that allows writers to work for the company's shows. "It's only a once a year show, so it wouldn't hurt the network, if that is what the writers are trying to do," Harold said. "It would hurt the Grammy show, and it would hurt the musicians." MusiCares, the Recording Academy's nonprofit arm that helps musicians in need, also would be harmed, he said. "This would be quite a blow if they couldn't have their show. I hope the writers understand how important it is for the show to go on to support the humanitarian efforts of MusiCares." The Recording Academy's president and CEO, Neil Portnow, said in a statement, "We are in a different industry than the motion picture and television business; I am quite certain that most are aware of the extremely difficult and challenging conditions facing our industry's creators and companies." The Associated Press reported that guild spokesman Gregg Mitchell said a waiver "is unlikely to be granted." If no waiver is granted, the question would be if the unions would allow their members to cross picket lines. "We really think that the writers guild will carefully consider what we have said to them and will work it out," Harold said. Among Nashville acts and work nominated for Grammys this year are Taylor Swift and Paramore, both up for top new artist; Vince Gill's four-disc These Days boxed set for album of the year; and "Before He Cheats," the Carrie Underwood smash written by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins, for song of the year. The Nashville Symphony's Alan Valentine plans on attending the Grammys, even if it means crossing the picket line. The symphony is up for two awards. "I'm not a member of the union," he said. "I'll write the show if they want me to." Hill recovers from knee surgery Faith Hill is recovering nicely after knee surgery Jan. 7 that was the result of an old injury suffered while playing high school softball and through normal wear and tear over the years. "Who has time to slow down?" Faith said in a statement. "I intend to be back better and stronger." She is preparing for her MusiCares tribute to Aretha Franklin in Los Angeles on Feb. 8 and recording her 2008 Christmas album. Keith, Nicole go house hunting Don't believe those media reports that have Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman living in Europe or Australia. I hear they are shopping for a Nashville home while their home near Leiper's Fork is being renovated. (Real estate guru Rick French, who works with Keith, couldn't be reached for comment.) "Nashville is very much a part of Keith and Nicole's plans now and in the future," Keith's spokesman, Paul Freundlich, said. "Any reports to the contrary are just not accurate." Morsels • The Internet is buzzing with news that Nashville performer Cardin McKinney is a top 50 finalist on this season's American Idol. • Stevie Nicks is in Nashville recording an album with Joe Thomas for a CD that accompanies a DVD of Soundstage, which airs on PBS. Joe directs the show.• Diana Ross will headline the 46th annual Swan Ball, which will be held June 14 at Cheekwood. |
