Anything related to Stevie on TV never works out smoothly.
I was at the SoundStage taping and they clearly said she was amongst the first to air - probably January. Matchbox 20 was filmed the week after Stevie and they are on the January calendar. I guaranty there is a huge amount of editing going on right now. I just hope they don't trim the **** out of the show or produce terrible edits as they did with Red Rocks. I have seen some poor editing on some SoundStage shows. (crossing my fingers, but not holding my breath). |

Amen to that. Plus, FM was notorious for bad editing. Look at the snafu's in the tambo ribbons on The Dance and the long shots when they are not even playing the same thing on the Mirage One. It just can't be that hard people - they need to put down the crack pipe and do the job ![]() |

Knowing Stevie... yeah.
I hope they edit out VC. That'd be sweet. |

It's the Gainsville show on PBS...
http://www.gainesville.com/article/2...0315/1006/NEWS Last year, a sold-out crowd of 10,000 packed into the O'Connell Center for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers' homecoming show in Gainesville. Next month, a national audience in the millions will be able to catch the show in their own homes when PBS, including Gainesville's WUFT-TV, will air the entire concert in two installments. The performance, in which Petty and gang run rampant on such hits as "You Wreck Me," "Free Fallin' " and "American Girl," will be aired in two, hour-long segments on the PBS series "Soundstage," on Jan. 10 and 17. Both start at 10 p.m. Taped Sept. 21, 2006, at the O'Dome, the concert features a guest appearance by Stevie Nicks and performances of such other songs as The Traveling Wilbury's "Handle With Care," Fleetwood Mac's "Oh Well" and Bo Diddley's "I'm A Man." The latter two were rolled out as part of an homage to Petty's earlier days in Gainesville, when he and groups like Mudcrutch played some of their old stomping grounds like Dub's. Nicks shows up to share vocal duties with Petty on "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" and sings lead on the Heartbreakers' early hit, "I Need to Know." January's broadcasts mark the first nationally aired showings of the concert, which is included as a bonus DVD in the box set of "Runnin' Down a Dream," the documentary on Petty and the Heartbreakers that premiered in theaters last October. Those who've seen the Peter Bogdanovich-directed film have already seen parts of the Gainesville concert - including "Southern Accents," which Petty hadn't performed in years until he returned to Gainesville and which is featured in the documentary. And speaking of the documentary, fans who haven't yet seen the 3-hour look at Petty's career have another chance on The Sundance Channel, which is screening the whole thing at 4 a.m. Friday and again at 6 a.m. Dec. 28. I know, I know, but hey - that's what TiVos are for. |
