Default Does anybody see it happening in 2008?

Are we going to see Fleetwood Mac Rumours line-up tour 2008? Or is everybody going to be flying solo? 2009?

I see it happening in 2009, because there's nothing on the horizon right now (that we know of) and these people would need at least a year to pull something together. But I think they will definitely do something again. One last hurrah.

I can see a FM tour in 2008 but not the Rumours lineup as Christine wont tour.

Yeah well that sucks. Stevie already said she wont do it without Christine...which means the money isnt the issue.

I know Lindsey will continue to do his solo thing, unless something else bizarre happens and it morphs into Fleetwood Mac again.

I wish they would do something cooler...you know if Christine doesnt wanna tour, why dont Lindsey, Stevie, Mick and John all head over to England and practice a few weeks? Then they can film an "unplugged" set and re-tool some of the songs for an HD-DVD. There's not a whole lot of "moving forward" that this band can do. I'm a fan of Lindsey's idealism (his need for a 2 disc SYW) but...Christine says she is against touring, so why cant they work around that? Sure the money is in the touring, BUT, this particular fan would rather see recordings and live DVDs in abundance, rather than the touring.

That's never going to happen. They need to tour. Stevie brought that up a lot of times, and recently too. Not so much for her or Lindsey, but definitely for John and Mick.

well i just wrote a huge post and something happened and i lost the page...ugh! anyway, what i was saying was what i really would love is to get peter, danny, jeremy, bob, and christine together with the rest of them and do a show and maybe put that out on dvd. this is pushing it a bit too but can you imagine if they played a few select major cities. Just do like a mini tour? I wish it could happen. It would be a huge success. But, dream on...

At this point, I personally have little desire to see them live unless something changes. And I'm completely fine with that. I've gotten my fill. If Christine came back, I'd be in. But, without her it's not the same. And ditch those backing musicians. I'm sorry. To me, it's not the classic FM. Period.

I have no clue what Christine is thinking right now. Maybe she IS itching to do something. It's been over 10 years.

I don't see anything with the band happening if 2008 unless a miracle happens... And not if Lindsey plans to back up this supposed other solo album he plans to put out.... and based on the recent date that Mick is playing, in St. Louis, or somewhere like that... where the article said the date was part of a "world tour". So no... not in '08.

You cant say that for sure. No one thought "The Dance" would ever happen, not even Stevie. So my optimism holds despite your opinion.

But they toured for The Dance. I thought you were saying you wanted just a live performance on DVD with Christine, and that they didn't have to tour?

The problem is, ironically, Mick. As it stands, he won't let Chris back in unless she tours. I see his point--to a point. But the band is getting old and why not just let it happen on album? He can send any old lineup on the road, as he's done in the past.

And let's not forget, Mick changes the rules when he needs to: he allowed--no persuaded--Chris to contribute to Time, even though it was clear she would not tour with the band that year.

In order for anything to happen (most likely not in 2008 at any rate) someone's gotta give.

Personally I think that if there is a collective will for the 5 of them to make some more music together then they'll find a way. It doesn't need to be a whole album. a few songs released on iTunes would be fine. If they all wanted to do it some of the recording could be done in L.A. and some in Kent.

The 4 who still want to tour could and Christine could sit at home and mind the dogs.

the trouble is the number of "ifs". As the great Ruud Gullitt (footballer and manager) once said "if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle"

I do not think the collective will exists.

Once Stevie started making her "not without Chris noises" if I'd have been Christine I'd have changed my phone number in case Mick got on my case.

I think she probably feels that if they recorded together the pressure to tour would inevitably follow. She never really enjoyed touring all that much and it's been 10 years. I just don't think she can face it. I would rather she sat at home and not tour out of some missplaced sense of loyalty or duty which would show in her performance.

As she once said "it's time to put the baby to bed"

It just irks the hell out of me that everything centers around whether Lindsey &/or Stevie want to get it together for Fleetwood Mac to exist.

Screw 'em!!!! If Mick & John want/need to do something, get people who WANT to be in Fleetwood Mac and get to work!!!

I saw Fleetwood Mac live on the TIME Tour in Phoenix and Christine McVie WAS on that stage performing with the band.

Yes you are right in that regard. That was me being hopeful that they would allow Chris to work with them and not tour. I don't really even think Chris would object to doing a few shows. Maybe a show in LA, a few in NYC and a few in the UK. Hell, they've got enough material that IF they DID record a new album (with Chris) they could still tour without her, and not have to do her stuff.

I'm partially siding with Chili, get people that WANT to be in Fleetwood Mac...but I dont see any of the old players coming back either. Stevie has said she won't do it unless Christine comes back...so there you go. The diva hath spoken. I dont see a way around that at all.
