It was without a doubt the most disgusting thing I've ever viewed. Yuck.

People having issues between themselves doesn't stifle my posting. Why would it? I don't see many "attacks" on here that aren't warranted, on some level. And if someone unjustly attacked me, I'd just tell them to **** off.

So, like I said earlier, I think people should be able to tell each other how they feel without fear of getting banned. I mean really, what's the worst that can happen? Someone gets their feelings hurt? Happens all the time.
I suppose anecdotal evidence will have to suffice. I know people who left here solely because of the negativity I am talking about. If people leaving here is worth expressing feelings in an aggressive manner, then so be it. Personally, I likely would take the more inclusive route.

There are ways to tell people you disagree with them, they hurt your feelings, etc. without an all out flame war that likely will drive people away from the FM side of the boards

Nancy (sodascouts) wisely once said on her board - this is not a joust and letting go is a good thing

Listen chiffonhead in reverse - once again, I did not like it. I know many others who did not, including some of his fans, which includes me BTW. If you like it and want to think everyone but a scant few loves it - so be it

As for UTS being on the level of the masterpieces I mentioned, I will never hold it that high. If you or anyone else wants to, who am I to keep you down

Good Lord - I say if you ban someone, have the fukcing sand to say they are banned

As an aside, if this board is to survive, that type of banning should cease, which it appears to have done. Moreover and IMO, the current admin. should reach out to those IMO wrongly banned. But, that likely will never happened.

I would agree, sort of. It's not a masterpiece. Its not better than OOTC. It ranks 2nd on his solo albums, for me. It was a GOOD album. I look forward to his next album much more!

I don't think anybody but Jason used the word 'masterpiece'.

I really enjoy UTS. OOTC is too much gloss for me really.

I think Law & Order is my favorite of all, but seriously, all 4 albums are so unique.. I can't and don't want to compare them.

I equated the use of "great" to that. If the proponents of UTS did not mean that great = masterpiece, then so be it. I think, however, they did and you are grasping at straws dear

But, for the record and to placate you, I ask the following:

Who here thinks that UTS is a Masterpiece as opposed to being great. I think it is neither. Again, I love LB, but UTS was not my cup of tea.

problem number two is I feel so many people have been burned by other ledgies, that everyone is on the defense. I think everyone pretty well knows what i'm talking about. we're not this happy family anymore. not that we ever were. I mean...it was disfucntional. and it was f*cked up. and it was crazy. but at least, for the most part, everyone cared for each other. there's no connection anymore. we've lots that loving feeling. now it's gone.

gone.

gone.

woah.

I also hate that the ledge has come to this. I'm not going to sit here and say "oh it's the holidays, people are busy" because it sucked before the holidays.

I think a bulk of the main posters don't really visit here as much because of certain events that have played out over the course of the past year. Then seven wonders crashed and this place was flooded with wannabes who were ~timeless~ and ~wind children~ and I felt like the few people who were left were put off by that.

okay. i'll add the holidays. yeah, people are busy *cough cough*

add that to no activity with the band, and you have a pretty bleak situation.

I keep hoping that the place will liven up but it hasn't. I wish I knew a way to fix it because I love this place. i really do.

while we're at it, the ONE thread that actually had activity going on was the thread about the 2girls1cup. it was actually an interesting thread, even though the material was disgusting. But it's not like the video was posted. it's not like a link was posted. we were just discussing the video and the reactions around it and it got deleted. so idk whatever.

and to touch on the one strike rule. if it weren't in place, i'd say what I think REALLY think happened to the ledge
Not sure who the "timeless" and "wind children" comment was aimed to- about being "wannabees" - but certain people - starting with myself, have been fans of FM and Stevie many LONG years- before most people were even on this planet!

To add to this, I've been wanting to come onto the Ledge for YEARS, as I was too busy being on other boards and groups, which I still am, for MANY, MANY years- but decided to finally just do it! I've hung out and partied with Ledgies for YEARS- as Chris had mentioned.. but just finally decided to do it this past summer!

I, too agree that the 7 Wonders comings and goings had nothing to do with the Ledge, as it was here AGES before Brian ever thought about starting up 7 Wonders!

On the "OTHER SIDE OF THE MIRROR"- I'm very appreciative for all of the people who "DO" post now, and for people like Mark (Vivfox) who is wonderful enough to start threads regarding downloads of music!! Instead of being negative, and looking at the negative end of it all, why not appreciate who all is on here NOW, and enjoy what's going on? Sure- it may not be like it was long ago, shoot, nothing is- but I think there's a LOT more to be greatful for then negative about!! Meeeeeeeeeerry Christmas~!

i would say that it is somewhere in between for me. I freakin LOVE this album. Can drive around with it in the cd player for weeks.
Time will decide though if I appreciate it more or less but i would put it up as an artistic masterpiece, which def. means it won't translate well to everyone's ears.

It is SO Lindsey, heart and soul, experimental, unexpected.
I think his songcrafting has come a long way since Law and Order (which i love as well - Hot tub, Hot tub) so it is very hard to compare them all.

Now you're just putting words into my mouth, mister.

You know, this has become quite ridiculous. I posted that HERE ON THE LEDGE no one seemed to have come out of the woodwork even when Lindsey put out a great album, which was considered GREAT by the majority of the people HERE ON THE LEDGE. Which is exactly what we were talking about in the first place, the fact that not many people post anymore, and someone said it was because the band wasn't doing anything. My entire post was an answer to that particular statement and referred only to the members HERE ON THE LEDGE.

You start talking about masterpieces, 'people you know', sales, reviews and compare it to other so-called masterpieces. It was all quite irrelevant. I get that you didn't like UTS. What's the big deal here?

^^^

Do you presume every conversation relates to you and what you said and that it cannot be a general discussion?

But, you are correct, this is ridiculous.
