Stevie on her Street Angel tour was totally bitchin & supremely excellent for her age.

Some people really hated the way she looked on the Rock a Little tour, but me, I thought she looked way cool, like in this photo. It was the last of her legendary Empress of the Pagoda looks.

the part bolded is the only part from the section you quoted that is bruce singing. and not one "well"
You may want to pull out your copy of TOSOTM . Actually, Bruce sings "Well the two of us" by himself and then Stevie joins in on the "Widow and a Dove" part.

Also, Bruce sings all the choruses with Stevie, which contain the "Well, I've already done..." and the "Well, the two us, well we must be..." parts. Too many wells in that song.

^^
I never thought of Stevie as heavy in that video... Sure, not stick thin, but definitely not heavy.
Maybe I was just swept away by the red gown, the hair, the fabulousness...

I saw him again...yesterday
I wonder if I'll ever see him again
He reminded me of something I lost

Blue-gray eyes...they change with the color...
Change with the sun...they run with the sight
They change with the wind...but they're always bright
Bright eyes...
Bright eyes...

I knew him another way
I knew him another day
In some ways he'd forgotten me
In many ways he got to me
I turned away so he couldn't see
I turned away...it could never be
I never thought he could walk away
But I lost him again...yesterday

Understanding me...understanding you
Is not an easy thing to do
Understanding me...and understanding you
Is not an easy thing to do

And I will never forget...
The last time I saw you
Like a photograph...so rare
Like a painting
No I will never forget...
The last time I saw you
Never to be...not you...not me
No...no...

So I'm going away for a little while
To remember how to feel
And if I find the answer...
I promise you...I'll come back and get you
I'll come back and get you
I'll come back and get you

Just by taking out "Blue Denim" the song takes on a whole other form, it could've been called "Another Day."

And why can't you get into Two Kinds of Love?
I have always thought that. had it not been called blue denim, or contained the reference. I do love it though. another day is not a bad title.

I waited for the debut on VH-1 for this video, they announced in advance so I sat through all sorts of VH-1 dreck until it came on. And I was like..."huh?"

Don't get me wrong, I do like the video and it was well done. It just took me a little by suprise. I had a 'start', as they say. I had not seen Stevie's face so wide in a long...well, ever. And so many close-ups, again with the wide face! One might think a sympathetic director could have corrected this somewhat by using a longer shot, gauze over the lens or something. Remember the Paula Abdul 'Promise of a New Day' vid where the director stretched the image vertically to give her a less boxy looking face when SHE put on some pounds?

Other than that, I love the gorgeous interior shots, the lamps, the bed with the long nets of white, the party scene...

I couldn't wait for this appearance when I heard about it. I remember my mom telling me that she heard on an early news program (today or good morning america) that stevie had some minor cosmetic surgery in preparation for the inauguration. not sure what was done or if that's even true. anyone hear this too? geez, what the heck did they do???

i was in complete horror when they showed the first close-up of her. the optimist that i was, i'm thinking and hoping she had really slimmed down to do this thing for the president. just when i thought she couldn't look worse than the previous years, to me it appeared that she had put on even more weight.

imo, this was her heaviest. you can see it all over her but mostly in her face. maybe it was just puffiness from medication but nonetheless bloat is bloat. but it was sad that this was the same lady whose face (and music etc) cast a spell on me (yeah, no pun blah blah blah) way back in 1981. oh, i completely gave up hope at that point. i never made fun of her or put her down personally or musically. but i couldn't help thinking, "what the hell is wrong with her? she's letting herself go." but i also knew it was a combination of the excess partying of years past and age that finally caught up to her. we didn't know at the time that she was on klonopin.

ahhh, yes, now it all makes sense.

You know what else? I think she did her eyes different that night. Her lids are usually darker and her lashes more pronounced. They look different. And of course, they are half closed too. And it's not just this pic, the whole time she was on stage she had that look. It's like she just woke up- and maybe she did.

And, the shoulders on the outfit for the inaugural were just the zenith of wrongness. And the waist too tight, the whole outfit looks too tight and even the hat looks like it's not fitting right.

Nope, the whole package that night was a darn shame. How lucky we all were, that she came back strong in '97 for The Dance special and tour.

best. stevie. solo. video........... {besides Blue Denim}
that red dress itself is enough to make this clip #1

i love when she's on the balcony in the white dress
and when the glass smashes
and she looks like an older version of herself with the lighting

but she was so hot in that video

and 'heavier'?

i wouldnt have said that she wasn't packing that much
