Nope, I like Blue Denim. I like it mostly because of the lyrics and the sentiment behind the song, but the song itself is not bad either. I never skip it. Two Kinds Of Love needs to be burned at the stake.

And I love Street Angel, the song. Love, love, love.

I can't hate on Blue Denim or any of Street Angel really. Not after hearing Carrie's dramatic interpretation of Docklands and that unforgettable guitar intro to Blue Denim.

Ok, I think the song would've been a lot more tolerable if it wasn't titled Blue Denim and didn't have the words "Blue Denim" in it.

I saw him the other day
I saw him again...yesterday
I wonder if I'll ever see him again
He reminded me of something I lost

Blue-gray eyes...they change with the color...
Change with the sun...they run with the sight
They change with the wind...but they're always bright
Bright eyes...
Bright eyes...

I knew him another way
I knew him another day
In some ways he'd forgotten me
In many ways he got to me
I turned away so he couldn't see
I turned away...it could never be
I never thought he could walk away
But I lost him again...yesterday

Understanding me...understanding you
Is not an easy thing to do
Understanding me...and understanding you
Is not an easy thing to do

And I will never forget...
The last time I saw you
Like a photograph...so rare
Like a painting
No I will never forget...
The last time I saw you
Never to be...not you...not me
No...no...

So I'm going away for a little while
To remember how to feel
And if I find the answer...
I promise you...I'll come back and get you
I'll come back and get you
I'll come back and get you

Just by taking out "Blue Denim" the song takes on a whole other form, it could've been called "Another Day."

And why can't you get into Two Kinds of Love?

I love 'Blue Denim', and it seems I'm in the minority here. But, I loved it a little 'less' when the story started circulating about 11 years ago that it was written for this crazy, deranged dude that used to post in any Stevie forum he could find (AOL, alt.music.stevie nicks, etc). I won't say his name, but the initials are BG.

I dunno, something about the first opening bars and the trills of the organ get my arms swinging at my flower-draped mic.

I remember her doing a really good version of Blue Denim live on the SA tour at Chastain,
it was especially rockin'.

I don't think that's a fair comment to make ... because it's not actually about a pair of jeans, it's about the colour of someone's eyes.

Well ... yes, can't argue with that! Though I like Jane, quite a lot -- that line needs to go!

Does anyone know what tour this is? I agree, she looks great here!

I'm also dying to see footing of the infamous "mini skirt" she wore for first few songs on the first leg of the BTM tour. Someone posted videos from an early show on YouTube but none with the skirt

its not the same if it doesnt rhyme
love songs need to rhyme.

I personally LOVE Street Angel [the album....]
Its amazing.
Blue Denim is probably my second favourite song off of it.
MLWCYM is the first [yeah, Stevie Didnt write it. oh well!]

And whats so wrong about comparing someones eyes to a pair of blue jeans??? its at least not a bad of a cliche as comparing them to 'the sky on a summers day' -.-

I'm gonna say late Tango tour for that picture. I'm sure Vanessa would love to post some pictures of the mini-skirt.

I don't particularly like Two Kinds of Love, but I don't hate it either.

I would say that for "the way you walk" line, I don't interpret it as "walk," step or stride. I read it more as "walk away". I think that goes along with the other lyrics about someone being on the run, on an endless search for love. So, for me it's like, "I love you for 2 reasons: one for the way you leave and one for the way you stay." I love you for the way you go and the way you stay and love me. Which also reminds me of the seemingly contradictory words in a later song (Love is knowing you won't let go, love is watching you go).

And, of course, I like the rise of emotion for the "outraged with each other, engaged to each other" part.

I never disliked Street Angel as much as Stevie did. It might be my least favorite of hers generally, but sometimes I like it more than I do Rock a Little.

Anyway, Blue Denim is the worst song in Stevie Nicks' song-writing history. If I took It's Too Late by Carole King, "She Bop" by Cyndi Lauper, added some adjectives, ate the paper I wrote this all down on, and then proceeded to use the restroom, whatever was left in the toilet would be "Blue Denim."
you're crazy

I love Blue Denim. Street Angel wasn't all that bad, y'all.

i love blue denim. i get why, liam, you think it's kinda corny that she uses "blue denim" and you can't get beyond it. But really, if you think about almost all of her songs, they can be corny if taken literally

just like the white winged dove, sings a song it sounds like she's singing
"whoo, baby whoo, said whoo"

are you kidding me??

don't hide behind your hair, it's a bit of gold and braid.

?

wtf?

there are tons more, but you get the point. but it's stevie. she can get away with that crap like no one else, because girlfriend owns it. ya know? she makes you believe that it's not cheesy. and that's why I love her.

see, i always thought of it as- i love you for two reasons

one for the way you walk: (the way you look; those blue eyes, being famous, being talented etc)

one for the way you love me: (the way you are, personality, the way you treat me etc)

but i'm not expert. especially on trying to figure stevie out

Only because they're still in my photobucket album.
