And holy sh*t I can't believe she made 7 million off Landslide- that is awesome.
so do we think that 7 million was from the dixie chicks version and that 7 million represents what she made during that time from the song?

or does she get that huge amount every year?

I took it to mean the TOTAL of what that one song raised since she wrote it.

Fantastic interview, thanks! I always love to see how she can trash Lindsey with a smile on her face.

She says she's all in the present, but talks about the past all the time. Great read by the way. She'll never loses her humour. But she can bash lindsey every day in interviews, he makes better music in the present than she does. And that's what it's all about for me.

I don't think his new music is better than her repertoire but, obviously, de gustibus.

Thank you so much for the article. That trips me out about the signed copy of Bella Donna. Amanda

I would say that things went downhill some time toward the end of the SYW tour. When Stevie did that very first Vegas show replacing Celine Dion, you could tell she was mad at Lindsey in interviews then and things have not gotten better on her part since.

During the tour itself, they seemed to be on pretty good terms. When SYW first came out and the publicity started in 2003, they were fighting in the press. Gradually, that friction eased and once the tour got underway, everything seemed fine. I listened to them and thought, "Man, it used to be bittersweet. Now, it's just sweet."

Today, it's just bitter! Michele

you know, i totally agree. and maybe if stevie released some CURRENT stuff, we would be able to reassess this. but i really like Stevie & Lindsey's demos, more so than their released stuff. I love how lindsey doesn't give a sh!t about what people think and does experiemental stuff with his music. Stevie needs to try something completely new

I read somewhere she had made a "few million" from the Dixie Chicks' cover. After all it was the most played song of 2002. I'm betting she's talking about the Dixie Chicks version

Stevie Nicks looks towrds the Edge of Seventy

Stevie is currently working on a chilldrens movie based on her song Goldfish and the Ladybug, which she says is for real this time. She's 100 percent happy right now but recalls how her late 50's were stolen from her by a drug she thought was helping her menapause.

I would think she meant 7 million total- her original version, The Dance version, and then the Dixie Chick version (which is painful but I'm glad she's making money from it). Oh, and The Smashing Pumpkins (which I *love*) version!

No, but it sure is great to have new material from him, unlike the Crystal Visions tour, oye.

I love how Stevie calls Lindsey a drama queen! And revealing to me was her explanation of the line in Landslide "I took my love...I took it down." I always thought that was a little vague -'took it down where?" Of course, the meaning only becomes clear after being unearthed from Stevie's underworld. She took her love down from a mantle! Of course! lol So classic Stevie.

I really appreciate her candor when it comes to her issues with Lindsey. While she appreciates and respects Lindsey's professional talents, they clearly have long-standing personal issues. I don't take sides with either. It's between the two of them. For me its about the music not the drama. And I agree, Stevie should put more emphasis on her future and minimize the constant rehash of the past. Just like her recent set lists, what occupies her mind is all about what was, as opposed to what will be.
